Adventurer Battles Goblins

Doge was a Lich, the equivalent of a Mage among humans, and naturally had a very frail body. A Mount to protect him was therefore essential. Now, however, this Mount not only had to protect its new master, Doge, but also its master's master, Dean.

"Look, everyone! The giant's over there!" As soon as Kana emerged from the Magic Beast Forest, she used the Eagle Eye Technique. With a body that huge, the giant caught her eye immediately. Even three thousand meters away, the ten-meter-tall giant still stood out.

"What else can you see?" Unlike Kana, who stood on a branch, Dean was merely sitting on the Undead Magic Beast's body and could not see very far.

"There are lots of tiny dots packed together, but it's too far away to make out what's happening!" Kana jumped straight down and hurried toward the giant with Dean and the other two.

A few minutes later, the four circled around the edge!

The battlefield was naturally in the middle. Just as the four had expected, nearly a thousand Goblins were fighting the adventurers. The battle seemed to have started only recently, yet it had already reached a stalemate.

The Goblin Tribe was evenly matched with the novice adventurers, First-Rank Adventurers, and even the handful of Second-Rank Adventurers. Neither side could get the better of the other. The Goblins relied on their numerical advantage, holding their own against the adventurers at a ratio of almost ten to one.

Essentially, neither side could do anything to the other. Dean's group did not recklessly rush in to help, either. If the adventurers thought reinforcements had arrived and their attention wavered, the Goblins might seize the opening and break the deadlock. After all, there were far too many of them.

Besides, the four would not be much help. At most, they could make things a little easier for the adventurers. As for Doge's Mount... who knew whether it would frighten them!

"Kana, what should we do? We can't just jump into the fighting, and the few of us wouldn't make much difference!" Lamore looked at some wounded people nearby. As a Priest, he could barely restrain himself from going over and casting a few Healing Techniques.

But Lamore had to conserve his mana for his own team. He could not let a momentary impulse leave his teammates in the awkward position of being injured with no mana left to heal them.

The four skirted the battlefield and reached the human support unit at the rear.

Could you believe that the Undead Magic Beast's enormous body, over two meters tall, actually sneaked through a wheat field just over a meter high, barely tall enough to conceal a person? Of course, this was a battlefield, where life and death hung in the balance, so no one paid attention to the Undead Magic Beast's concealed body. With the clash of swords, sabers, shields, and axes ringing out everywhere, the group slipped past unnoticed.

The support unit consisted entirely of novice adventurers, who provided assistance here and treated adventurers withdrawing from the battlefield. Although the fighting had only just begun, quite a few people had already been wounded.

Kana's group made quite an entrance. There were only a handful of Mounts that large in all of Blue Town. Moreover, this Mount radiated an aura of death, making it obvious at a glance that it was anything but ordinary.

Thus, the moment Kana's Squad appeared among the support unit, everyone stared at them curiously. If not for the four normal adventurers beside it, someone might already have taken the Mount apart.

"Dean, do you know what it feels like for those little Magic Beasts controlled by beast tamers when they're taken out to perform?" Lamore asked in amusement, not forgetting to run a hand through his flowing emerald hair.

"You mean we're like those little Magic Beasts controlled by beast tamers, dragged out to put on a show?" Dean replied, speechless. Why was Lamore always thinking about such strange things?

But it was true. Not only Lamore and Dean, but Kana and Yanxi also felt as though they were little performing Magic Beasts on display for everyone.

After they had walked through the support unit for a little while, a middle-aged man in white robes emerged from a large tent ahead, leaning on a green wooden staff a head taller than he was.

"Mentor, I'm back!" Lamore hurried forward and bowed to the man. He was utterly respectful now, without the slightest hint of his usual joking manner.

"Oh, little Mo-Mo! Nothing could be better than seeing you're safe. Well, where did you run off to play for a whole day?" The man chuckled cheerfully. He looked kind and approachable, without any air of sternness.

It was clear that the man was genuinely delighted to see Lamore unharmed.

This man was the Third-Rank Priest of Blue Town's only Temple, and Lamore's immediate superior!

A crowd followed the middle-aged Priest out of the tent. Dean's mentor, Sanderson, was among them and nodded to Dean in acknowledgment. However, Sanderson seemed far more interested in the Mount beneath Dean.

"We... we accidentally followed a small band of Goblins all the way to their lair!" Lamore answered his mentor rather meekly.

"The Goblin Nest? What reckless nonsense! Even the chairman of the Adventurers' Guild couldn't escape from all those Goblins in the Goblin Nest. Have you boys and girls got a death wish?" Clearly, the man was still furious to learn that the four had ventured deep into the Goblin Nest. As a Priest, what he feared most was someone losing their life while he could do nothing to help.

"Old charlatan, don't be so fierce. Look at your pupil—he slipped out perfectly fine, didn't he? Never mind that for now. Heal me!" Just then, a gruff voice rang out behind them.

Rukta, the chairman of the Adventurers' Guild, stood there with the Giant Axe resting on one shoulder. A section of his other arm had been flattened, evidently crushed by a heavy blow from something.

"You old fool, can you still manage? If you can't hold out, say so. Then we can retreat and preserve as much of our fighting strength as possible!" The middle-aged Priest sighed, then cast a Healing Technique, slowly restoring Rukta's arm.

"Bone Regeneration Technique!" Another green light enveloped Rukta's arm and seeped into the bones within, repairing those that had been shattered. Only then did Rukta breathe a sigh of relief. The agonizing pain he had been enduring finally eased.

The middle-aged Priest glanced at Lamore. He said nothing, merely nodding lightly as master and pupil treated the arm together!

"By the way, Sanderson, you said you'd taken on a pupil. Let me guess—is it this lad?" As though he had nothing better to do, Rukta pointed at Dean and asked Sanderson.

Although Sanderson was not strong, he was known as a wise man among Blue Town's upper ranks. Put simply, he was a fellow whose strength was lacking but whose brain worked well.

"That's right. I took the lad on a couple of days ago!" Sanderson replied, continuing to study the huge creature before him. His stare made Doge and his Mount's hair stand on end, as though they might be taken apart at any moment.

Following Sanderson's gaze, more and more people around them noticed Dean, the Undead Behemoth beneath him, and the trembling little Lich.

"Dean... where did you get this thing?" Sanderson asked curiously.
