The conversation at the table soon turned to Black.
As they discussed Black, Will glanced at the Weasley Brothers and the black-robed figure in the corner. He quickly confirmed that the figure was Harry, so, through his words and emotional weaving, Will subtly steered their conversation, gradually coaxing them into talking about the past.
As for why Harry was there...
Naturally, he had been unable to resist his cravings. The three of them had bought sliced ham and bread at the Echoing Fireplace, then hurried to the Three Broomsticks for Butterbeer. Tucked into a corner by the window, they were thoroughly enjoying their food and drinks.
Just as the three were eating and drinking in comfort, the professors arrived—professors needed a break too, after all. Harry immediately lost his nerve when he spotted Professor McGonagall. Fortunately, before the professors could sit down, another crowd streamed in: Fudge and the others, who had just finished a round of "patrols" through Hogsmeade.
Even with the Minister present, no one paid any attention to Harry's outfit. The wizarding world had every sort of eccentric imaginable; someone wearing a cloak was perfectly normal.
Harry was congratulating himself on not being discovered when he heard Lupin begin talking about his days with Harry's father, and he pricked up his ears.
With Will's "curious questions" helping things along, Lupin recounted the story of himself, James, Black, and Peter.
"Later, to keep James and Lily safe, they decided to choose Black as their Secret Keeper. But that very decision led to the tragedy..." Lupin sighed, took a long drink of gin, and continued, "As for now, my goal is to protect Harry, catch Sirius, and make him atone for what he did back then!"
Everyone around him lamented how unpredictable life could be. They condemned Black's treachery
