"So, Professor, does that mean I can't come to Malfoy Manor anymore?" Will sounded deeply disappointed.
"Not until I've found the mole in our ranks, at least." Voldemort nodded. It was a troublesome matter.
Will lowered his head and said nothing.
"But we can still exchange letters through Lucius. I remember you said you wanted to study Soul Studies. Before you return to school, I'll have Lucius and Rock bring you some materials.
"But you must be careful at Hogwarts. If those books are discovered, you'll certainly be expelled. Worse, Dumbledore will likely start watching you. That's the real danger."
This was also a way to narrow down the suspects. Only four people would know about this: Voldemort himself, Will, Lucius, who would deliver the books, and Rock Rowle.
If something happened to Will, then the mole was either Lucius or Rock. This was his first test.
Of course, he didn't think Lucius was the mole. After all, his exchanges with Will had gone through the Malfoy father and son for a long time. If either of them had been compromised, Will would have been exposed long ago.
And Will as the mole? What a joke. If Dumbledore learned that Will experimented on Wizards and studied Soul Studies, sending him straight to Azkaban would be the least he could do.
Will, a mole? Impossible. Absolutely impossible!
"Thank you, great Professor, for guiding me on the path to knowledge." Will was delighted. Voldemort knew a great deal about souls, and the materials he provided would be useful.
Will's own grasp of Soul Studies was poor. He was little more than a dabbler, and there was scant research on the subject anywhere in the Wizarding World. Naturally, he was eager to learn more.
Voldemort's willingness to give him materials to study was
