"Dunno! I went to bed really early last night! I didn't hear a thing!"
Jerry shook his head vigorously, looking as though he knew nothing at all, then lowered his head and went on eating his pie.
"Seriously, we really heard it! Ask Fred if you don't believe us!" George said excitedly.
"It's Saturday today. George and I are going to sneak into the Forbidden Forest to investigate. We're bound to find evidence!" Seeing that Harry and the others didn't believe them, Fred revealed his and George's plan, then left the Great Hall under everyone's astonished gazes.
"Could Hagrid have secretly started keeping another dragon?" Neville whispered to the others when he saw that the twins didn't seem to be lying.
Harry and Ron froze in their seats at Neville's words. After thinking it over carefully, they decided that if George and Fred weren't lying, perhaps Hagrid really had got hold of another dragon from somewhere and was keeping it in the Forbidden Forest.
He was absolutely capable of doing something like that.
"They won't be in danger, will they?"
As soon as Neville finished speaking, Harry and the others turned to look at Jerry and Hermione. After all, those two had experience sneaking into the Forbidden Forest!
"Why are you looking at us?" Hermione said, exasperated. "Jerry and I had barely gone in before the centaurs caught us. Then Professor Snape showed up and brought us out. Ask Jerry if you don't believe me!"
"Relax. Rather than worrying about their safety, you should worry about how many points Gryffindor will lose this time!
