"Jerry, you know something about Harry. His parents died protecting him from Voldemort!"
"I know. You're going to say the Apostles were there that night, aren't you? Let me make one thing clear: I had nothing to do with it! That was all the Apostles!"
Dumbledore: ...
"Something unexpected happened that night. A fragment of Voldemort's soul attached itself to Harry. That's why Kevin Fawley came to see us!"
"I know that... too!"
Dumbledore and Grindelwald looked surprised. They hadn't expected Jerry to know even that.
"Just tell me why you came to see me today! You can skip the background. I might know as much as you do!"
"All right!" Dumbledore glanced at Grindelwald, then nodded. "I want you to save Harry when the time comes. Don't let Voldemort kill him. Then you must... kill him yourself!"
Dumbledore's request caught Jerry off guard. It wasn't that he couldn't bring himself to do it. One Fiendfyre spell would settle the matter. After all, in a sense, Harry was one of his sacrifices too.
Jerry wanted to ask whether Dumbledore and Grindelwald knew about the connection between Voldemort's soul and the sacrifices.
"What? Can't bring yourself to hurt a friend?" Seeing Jerry deep in thought, Grindelwald mistook it for a soft heart. He patted Jerry's shoulder. "Jerry, necessary sacrifices are worth making for a great cause!"
Jerry: Yeah, right.
"Don't worry, Jerry! Harry won't die!" Dumbledore assured him.
Really? I don't believe you!
I could hit him with a Killing Curse, then follow it with Fiendfyre and burn him until there wasn't a hair left. Let's see him survive that! Jerry thought.
"The Apostles tampered with the magic Lily cast before she died. Its power entered Harry along with Voldemort's soul. Your Killing Curse would strike only Voldemort's soul, not Harry!"
