"I understand that. The Anbu belong to the Hokage and the village!" Uchiha Yi nodded slightly. "I only intend to bring Uchiha Mikoto, Hyuga Rinka, and Nawaki into my squad."
"Uchiha Mikoto, Hyuga Rinka, and Nawaki?" Hiruzen Sarutobi's eyelid twitched. He hadn't expected Uchiha Yi to give him a list like that.
The requirements for joining the Anbu weren't as high as most people imagined. Many members were only Chunin.
What mattered most was that they were dependable people he could trust.
The three Uchiha Yi had named came from three different clans, but all were students of Tsunade or Orochimaru. They had stayed in the village instead of taking missions after their teachers went to the battlefield, for their own safety.
Without someone to lead them, Hiruzen Sarutobi would never feel comfortable letting them go out.
But Uchiha Yi was different. He was young, but his strength was no worse than Hiruzen's, and he knew the Flying Thunder God Technique. If even Uchiha Yi couldn't protect them, no one could.
Perhaps this squad could work after all.
In time, it might even rival the squad Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru had formed.
The only concern was that these people might become Uchiha Yi's inner circle, giving him the support to compete for the Hokage's position.
After some hesitation, Hiruzen Sarutobi agreed. Even if he stopped them from serving under Uchiha Yi, would that make them any less close to him?
Better to do them a favor and help them grow. Konoha needed them to come into their own as soon as possible.
"Very well! I agree. Once Kushina graduates, she can join your squad too." After a moment's thought, Hiruzen Sarutobi added, "I recall you're on good terms with Minato Namikaze."
In fact, Hiruzen Sarutobi admired Minato Namikaze even more
