Background / History

Rinka was raised as an eldest daughter of the Hyuga Main Family, with access to the clan’s best training resources and attendants drawn from servants or the Branch Family. She trained privately and never attended the Ninja Academy 26 32 35.

When the Hyuga refused to let their heir, Hiashi, undertake missions amid rising international tensions, they offered Rinka for Tsunade’s squad instead. Rinka herself requested the placement; the clan would not have forced her to join. She wanted to escape a comfortable life of dependence and become someone capable of protecting the entire family 26 32.

She first met Yi at Training Ground Seven, introducing herself with a formal bow. Tsunade then established the squad consisting of Rinka, Yi, and Kushina 31 32.
