Fusing Nawaki's Physique

Uchiha Yi rarely showed off his Body Flicker Technique. More precisely, he almost never revealed it in front of outsiders.

Compared with Fire Release, Lightning Release, and the various Uchiha-style techniques, Yi had devoted far more effort to studying the Body Flicker Technique.

Yi had a considerable talent for it. After all, his son was Shisui Uchiha, known as Body Flicker Shisui.

Kagami Uchiha's Body Flicker Technique was also famous. Under the guidance of Tobirama Senju, the fastest man in the Shinobi World, Kagami had adapted the technique to suit himself.

Yi had begun learning it a year ago and had since incorporated it into his everyday combat.

He almost never used it in public, but he had no such reservations in the battle space. The explosive speed of the Body Flicker Technique, paired with Uchiha-style swordsmanship, let him strike without warning.

Before Nawaki's startled eyes, Yi drove his sword through Nawaki's abdomen.

But Yi was soon the one stunned. Before he could pull the sword free, Nawaki surged forward, driving it even deeper. He wrapped both arms tightly around Yi, several lit Explosive Tags clenched in his hand.

Was he really that ruthless?

Yi was shocked. An ordinary ninja would have lost the ability to fight after being stabbed through the abdomen, but Nawaki relied on the fearsome vitality of his combined Senju Clan and Uzumaki Clan heritage to hold Yi in place. He intended to take them both down.

Fortunately, Yi had grown considerably over the past month. He promptly let go of his sword and formed Hand Seals.

"I won't see my sister again, and I'll never become Hokage. But even if I die, I'm taking you to the Pure Land with me," Nawaki murmured close to Yi's ear.

What the hell? Yi wanted to curse Nawaki for fighting dirty. What kind of grudge did he have against me?

I only wanted to kill him once for a reward. Did he have to go this far?

Boom! The Explosive Tags engulfed Yi and Nawaki alike.

At the same moment, Yi's figure turned to mud. His real body appeared a short distance away, gasping for breath.

Earth Release: Earth Substitute was one of the few Earth Release techniques Yi could use well.

It had proved useful in a situation like that.

Then Yi's consciousness returned to his body.

Ding! Congratulations, Uchiha Yi. You have defeated Nawaki and obtained his mixed Senju Clan and Uzumaki Clan physique. Fuse with it?

Fuse!

At Yi's thought, he felt as though his body were being torn apart. A terrifying energy was reshaping him.

Fuck your sister! Yi was delighted to gain Nawaki's physique. Even without Asura Chakra, it would be a tremendous boost.

But the pain of his cells being torn apart was unbearable. Just as Yi was about to faint, warmth flowed from his eyes and quickly eased the pain.

His Sharingan activated without his realizing it. The single Tomoe in each eye spun rapidly, then split into two.

Under the influence of Nawaki's physique, Yi's Sharingan had advanced again, becoming a Two-Tomoe Sharingan.

Yi thought his Sharingan might advance even further, straight to three Tomoe, but the tearing sensation subsided. The two Tomoe in each eye stopped spinning.

"Huff, huff, huff!" The fusion had been both brief and agonizingly long. Yi looked as though he had been hauled out of a bath.

Still, the fusion had significantly increased his strength. His chakra had doubled, his physique had improved considerably, and he now had the Two-Tomoe Sharingan. If he faced Izumo Kamizuki again, Yi was confident he could win.

Sure enough, combining Uchiha blood with Senju Clan and Uzumaki Clan blood yielded far more than the sum of its parts.

"The improvement was impressive. The process was brutal." Yi covered his eyes. He did not challenge anyone else.

At his current strength, challenging the young Asuma probably would not be difficult, but he needed to review his previous fight.

He had already been stronger than Nawaki before the battle, and he had killed him in the end.

But Yi lacked combat experience. Nawaki, who had likely spent some time on the battlefield, had fought like a veteran and had nearly caught him out.

Still, if Nawaki had not been so important, Yi would not have minded dying alongside him. He wanted to know whether taking an opponent down with him would still earn him a reward.

If it did, he could use extreme methods to defeat future opponents, like strapping Explosive Tags to himself and blowing them up.

He would have to pay more attention to such tactics. Until he could use Susanoo, he was still vulnerable, and he needed to be cautious.

Potential was only potential. Sometimes a single Explosive Tag was enough to kill.

In a ninja battle, it was perfectly normal for the weaker side to win.

Yi spent over an hour reviewing the fight before challenging Asuma Sarutobi. This young Asuma was around fourteen or fifteen and roughly as strong as Nawaki. With his newfound strength, Yi dispatched him in short order.

After the battle, Yi gained Asuma's proficiency in Wind Release from that stage of his life.

Yi had barely studied Wind Release before. He had focused on Fire Release and Lightning Release, the affinities he had been born with.

But after acquiring Asuma's Wind Release proficiency, Yi's skill in it shot up until it was no worse than his current Fire Release or Lightning Release.

Sure enough, I need the battle space to get ahead. Too bad I really can't beat Granny Chiyo. If I could get her poison-making skills and combat experience, I'd be unstoppable.

Over the next few days, Yi worked on getting used to his sudden increase in strength.

"Yi, did you hear? Something big happened at school today." As soon as Yi sat down, Kushina Uzumaki leaned over and spoke to him mysteriously.

Not long ago, Kushina had found a way to move her seat next to Yi's. He had been helpless to stop her, though secretly pleased.

Sure enough, I'm irresistible to little girls.

"What happened?" Yi was not the only one curious. Minato Namikaze and the others seated in front turned to look at Kushina too.
