Background / History

Bridge Between the Clan and Village

During Tobirama Senju’s lifetime, Kagami communicated the Uchiha Clan’s goodwill to the Second Hokage and conveyed Tobirama’s intentions back to the clan. Tobirama valued him, while the Uchiha hoped he could become the next Hokage 1.

After Tobirama’s death, Kagami was the first to support Hiruzen Sarutobi’s appointment as Third Hokage. Uchiha who believed the position should have gone to Kagami or their clan leader regarded this as a betrayal. His supporters favored continued cooperation with Konoha, while his opponents demanded an Uchiha Hokage and were prepared to pursue confrontation or a coup.
