Origin and Mechanics

The Battle Space activated when news of Kagami Uchiha’s death triggered Uchiha Yi’s Sharingan awakening. Yi enters it with his consciousness and returns to reality after a battle 2 3.

• Opponent selection: The space refreshes monthly and generates opponents drawn from different points in their lives. Its first selection contained five; later documented selections contained four 2 11 49.
• Rewards: Defeating an opponent grants a random attribute or ability from them. Recorded rewards include chakra, physique, eye power, talents, techniques and combat knowledge 2 12 24 36.
• Integration: Yi chooses whether to integrate a reward. Indra’s Chakra took effect almost immediately, while integrating Nawaki’s physique caused intense pain 3 12.
• Limits: Yi cannot choose which opponents appear or which reward a victory gives. After losing his remaining challenges against the first selection, he could no longer challenge those opponents in the Battle Space 2 8.

Recorded Victories and Rewards

Challenge Limits

• Yi’s first selection included four opponents he judged beyond him; after defeating Sasuke, he lost his remaining challenges against the others. He could put up a fight against Izumo Kamizuki but lacked the experience to win 2 8.
• Later defeats against opponents including Obito Uchiha, Kimimaro, Itachi, Tsunade and Sasori demonstrated that the Battle Space could generate fighters far above Yi’s current strength. He was beating Gaara until Gaara released the One-Tail 24.
• Battles can teach Yi even without a reward: his fight with Nawaki exposed how easily a wounded opponent’s explosive trap could catch him off guard. Against young Tobirama, Yi accepted injury to secure the victory 12 50.
