"Support me becoming Hokage?" Uchiha Yi looked at Hyuga Hiashi with interest.
His becoming Hokage had long been a foregone conclusion. All he had wanted was to use Hyuga Rinka's connection to keep the Hyuga Clan from standing in his way.
The Hyuga Clan was quite important to Konoha.
Used well, the clan could provide considerable fighting strength and plenty of useful hands.
Yi still had too few people firmly in his camp. The Sarutobi Clan and Ino-Shika-Cho had begun gravitating toward him, but neither was truly his own.
They could be counted as allies, but that was not quite the same thing.
The people truly in Yi's camp were Nawaki, Minato Namikaze, Hyuga Rinka, and Uchiha Mikoto.
The forces loyal to them could also be counted as his. That meant Rinka's faction was already part of his core support.
"Yes. The Hyuga Clan is willing to put its full strength behind your bid to become Hokage." Hiashi nodded slightly. "And afterward, we're willing to cooperate with everything you do."
"Is that so? Then what does the Hyuga Clan want?" Yi studied Hiashi with interest.
There was no question that Hiashi—and the entire Hyuga Clan—was making a huge commitment.
But why?
Given the clan's unique position, no one would trouble them as long as they remained neutral.
Even after the Uchiha Clan was destroyed in the future, the Hyuga Clan would receive little more than a warning.
All they had to do was stay neutral.
So why was Hiashi doing this?
Hiashi stared at Yi for a long while before gritting his teeth. "What do you think of Rinka, Yi?"
"Rinka? She's wonderful!" Yi quickly caught on, and he gave Hiashi an odd look.
Surely he doesn't mean that?
*That can't be it! The Hyuga Clan is even more old-fashioned
