Did he mistake me for Uchiha Itachi?

Uchiha Yi froze for a moment, but his hands never stopped moving. He hurled two kunai of his own, then dashed toward Sasuke.

As he sped forward, Uchiha Yi rapidly formed hand seals and drew a deep breath, swelling his belly as chakra gathered there.

Clang! Clang! The four kunai collided in midair. Watching Uchiha Yi race toward him, Sasuke Uchiha's heart tightened. He recognized those hand seals.

Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique—the Uchiha Clan's signature ninjutsu. Sasuke knew it too!

He simply wasn't very good at it yet. Remembering his father's disappointed expression back then, and how differently he had judged him and Uchiha Itachi, Sasuke's stubborn streak flared up!

He formed hand seals and spat out a "massive" fireball to meet Uchiha Yi's head-on. But when their fireballs collided, Uchiha Yi's, nearly twice the size of Sasuke's, swallowed the smaller one within moments and bore down on him.

Seeing his fireball instantly overwhelmed, Sasuke's pupils contracted sharply, and he immediately moved to dodge.

The Fire Release: Can't Kill Anyone Technique lived up to its reputation. Sasuke's fireball had slowed it down a little, after all, and he narrowly escaped as the flames grazed past his body.

But before Sasuke Uchiha could celebrate, his expression changed drastically. Explosive tags surrounded him, their fuses already on the verge of igniting.

"Did you think I didn't know a fireball wouldn't kill anyone?" Uchiha Yi sneered. After unleashing the Great Fireball Technique, he had used kunai and wire to set explosive tags around Sasuke. Against him, that was enough.

Without giving Sasuke Uchiha a chance to speak, the explosive tags around him detonated, engulfing him as resentment filled his face.

Ding! Congratulations to Uchiha Yi on defeating Sasuke Uchiha. Obtained pure Indra's Chakra. Integrate it?

As the battle summary appeared, Uchiha Yi's consciousness returned to reality.

Killing Sasuke had been much easier than he had imagined.

Still, that wasn't hard to understand. Sasuke was rather lacking at this stage, after all. Yi didn't know whether he had awakened his Sharingan, but even if he had, he wouldn't know how to use it.

Nor had anyone taught him the Lightning Release he excelled at.

Compared to Fire Release, Lightning Release clearly suited Sasuke better. Even after he grew stronger in the future, most of the ninjutsu in his arsenal would be Lightning Release, not the Fire Release the Uchiha Clan took such pride in.

Everything Sasuke knew, Yi knew too. Most of what Yi knew, Sasuke didn't.

Before Sasuke could even get started, a crafty bastard had already schemed him to death.

This battle also helped Uchiha Yi realize how he could quickly defeat his early opponents: the battle space didn't prohibit explosive tags!

Perhaps he could stock up on explosive tags to deal with the powerful enemies inside the battle space.

But explosive tags were strategic supplies, and Konoha restricted how many individuals could purchase. Stockpiling large quantities wasn't exactly realistic for Uchiha Yi.

Besides, explosive tags were somewhat effective against ordinary ninja, but a small number wouldn't do much against truly powerful opponents.

What Uchiha Yi hadn't expected was for the battle space to drop Indra's Chakra this time. That was Sasuke's greatest cheat in the future.

And this was pure Indra's Chakra. Uchiha Yi didn't need to worry about it subtly influencing him.

If I get the chance to integrate Asura chakra too, could I awaken the Rinnegan?

Uchiha Yi didn't even intend to transplant Hashirama Senju's cells. He would simply wait for Hashirama Senju or Naruto Uzumaki to appear in the battle space later. If Asura himself appeared, that would be even better.

Integrate! Uchiha Yi hurriedly gave the battle space the command in his mind.

Almost instantly, Uchiha Yi felt a peculiar energy appear inside him. Under its influence, his eye power nearly doubled in an instant, and his chakra increased by at least fifty percent.

And that was only the beginning. Uchiha Yi could clearly feel that Indra's chakra would continue gradually improving his physique, chakra, and eye power.

It would be a mistake to assume that the Uchiha Clan had poor physiques and chakra reserves aside from their Sharingan. They simply couldn't compare to the Senju and Uzumaki Clan.

In fact, every advancement of the Sharingan also increased its wielder's chakra.

An Uchiha with a Three-Tomoe Sharingan generally had more than twice the chakra of an ordinary jonin.

The only downside was that Uchiha Yi could clearly feel his chakra had become much colder and more sinister because of Indra's chakra.

Of course, that could be explained away. An Uchiha's chakra usually changed after awakening the Sharingan anyway.

"Yi, dinner's ready. Come eat!" While Uchiha Yi was marveling at the battle space's power, Uchiha Mikoto's voice came from the kitchen.

"Coming!" Uchiha Yi quickly stood and walked over to Uchiha Mikoto.

Uchiha Mikoto was an excellent cook. In just half an hour, she had prepared a lavish dinner for Uchiha Yi.

Beef with silky eggs, stir-fried greens, red-braised chicken—Uchiha Yi had previously explained how to cook all these dishes to Uchiha Mikoto. She really was a natural-born wife and mother, easily picking up every recipe.

Watching Uchiha Yi tuck into his food, Uchiha Mikoto rested her chin on one hand, a smile curling her lips. It seemed Uncle Kagami's sacrifice hadn't affected Yi too badly.

She had truly worried that Uchiha Yi's personality might change drastically, as happened to other Uchiha.

"I plan to go back to school tomorrow. Sorry for the trouble, but I'll be counting on you for lunch, Mikoto," Uchiha Yi said as he ate.

His words made Uchiha Mikoto pause. "So soon? Won't you rest at home for a few more days?"

"It's fine, Mikoto. I've pretty much recovered!" Uchiha Yi shook his head slightly.

He didn't tell Mikoto that he hadn't actually had much of an emotional bond with Kagami. Some things were best kept to himself.

What kind of decent person wouldn't even care whether his own father lived or died?
