"It's a Wood Vine! A living one!" San San cried out. "Qi Qi! I want it!"
Ye Chuqi helplessly patted her forehead. Perhaps because the space contained vast stretches of Spirit Fields, aside from things that could provide energy, San San was interested in all kinds of plants. Anything interesting that San San had never seen before was especially tempting, and anything alive that could move was absolutely irresistible.
San San wanted them all!
What else could she do with her own little one? Spoil San San, of course!
Among the plants in the Lost Forest that possessed spiritual awareness, Wood Vines had some of the gentlest temperaments. Big Black Fish was clever, too. He knew to pick an easy target, and he knew San San was interested in such things. He not only had to win Ye Chuqi's favor, but also get into San San's good graces. After all, he spent more time with San San, and their relationship was a little closer.
He could sense that only when San San did well could he do better.
He had found this Wood Vine as a gift to please San San, forcibly dragging it straight out of its home and delivering it to San San—or, rather, right in front of Ye Chuqi.
As though realizing it could not break free of Big Black Fish, the Wood Vine thrashed wildly, ready to make one last desperate stand. But Ye Chuqi had already pinned its vital point with one hand.
Spiritually aware plants like Wood Vines, once mutated, possessed something similar to a magic beast's beast core and were known as Plant Beasts. Unlike beast cores, which contained berserk energy that was difficult to eliminate, their Crystal Cores held energy so pure that anyone would covet it.
Unfortunately, Plant Beasts were exceedingly
