Ye Qinglan sensed a strong blood connection to his younger sister, Ye Chuqi, before she was born. When she disappeared as an infant, he refused to accept a divination declaring that she was no longer in their world; he remained convinced she was alive 61.

He spent years at the Beast Abyss Frontline. After leaving the front, he felt that Chuqi had returned and searched for her near the Lost Forest. Red Beard told him about a silver-haired girl separated from a mercenary group by a teleportation accident, and Qinglan immediately identified her as Chuqi 44 135 238. He reunited with her while meeting the Bale Mercenary Corps and apologized for arriving so late 115.

Qinglan initially wanted to stay beside Chuqi and make up for their lost years. As he came to know her, he decided that supporting her ambitions mattered more than keeping her close. He helped with her investigations and prepared the ship, crew and supplies for her journey to the Thirteen Misty Islands 236 254 255.

Appearance

Qinglan bears the Ye Family resemblance: pale silver hair and dark eyes. His reserved bearing and military uniform make him conspicuous in public 44 115 124.

Personality

Qinglan is restrained with strangers but gentle and attentive toward Chuqi. He does not press her to explain her past or return to the Ye Family before she is ready. His protectiveness can be intimidating: he intervenes when Jules confronts her and becomes wary of people who pry into her secrets 115 137 144 274.

He takes his military responsibilities seriously. At the Beast Abyss Frontline, he leads from the front and is valued for his ability to rally troops as well as fight 357 376.
