Background / History

Jun Ruofeng manages the Red Wind Mercenary Group’s finances. Its missions build reputation and connections, but most of its operating money comes from businesses he acquired in the group’s name. Those businesses also employ injured or retired mercenaries, mercenaries’ families and homeless children 16.

He meets Ye Chuqi in the Ashen Wasteland while searching for Red Beard. After noticing that she has swallowed blood despite appearing unhurt, he asks Xiya to examine her; Xiya finds severe internal injuries 11 13. Jun later lends Ye Chuqi money for supplies and modifies her Honor Medal into spatial equipment using materials she provides 18 27 36.

In Kru Town, Jun investigates the disappearance of young girls. His methods identify three groups involved, but his tracking cannot follow their trail through the Lost Forest’s chaotic magnetic field 37 38. When a sabotaged teleportation formation separates Ye Chuqi from the mercenaries, he supports Red Beard’s costly search for her 43.

Appearance

Jun has a slender frame, pale features and an elegant bearing that stands out even in the Ashen Wasteland 10 11 23.

Personality

Jun is observant, sharp-tongued and exacting about money. He identifies Ed’s exposed badge as the clue that revealed the group’s identity, catches signs of Ye Chuqi’s hidden injuries, and keeps a close account of Red Beard’s debts 10 13 16. He maintains his comforts while traveling, including afternoon tea in the wasteland, and prefers a carriage or teleportation formation to rough travel 10 39.

His cold manner does not prevent him from helping his companions. He arranges care for Ye Chuqi, funds her purchases and backs the search for her after the teleportation accident 11 18 43.
