Hachinosu's annual grand event arrived right on schedule.

Standing on high ground, Hades looked out over the sea of people in the distance. More than ten thousand pirates were pouring onto the island every day.

Trade of every kind was booming. Even Hades's Exchange House had grown crowded.

Hachinosu was the heart of the New World.

It was home to the world's strongest and most terrifying pirate crew: the Rocks Pirates.

And now, the busiest day of the year had come to Hachinosu.

The island was hosting its annual recruitment tournament.

Pirates from every corner of the New World flocked there to fight for a place in the Rocks Pirates.

Joining the Rocks Pirates would send them straight to the top.

Even for those seeking only fame, the tournament was a stage like no other.

Of course, joining the Rocks Pirates meant surviving a brutal fight. Every year brought a feast of blood.

Pirates who knew they lacked the strength stayed out of it, but for madmen like them, watching was a pleasure in itself.

Edward Newgate had little taste for this kind of slaughter, though he had come through it himself.

Even those who survived were little more than Cannon Fodder. Only the contestants who performed exceptionally well could catch his eye.

Hades chuckled softly.
