High above, the blue armored warships locked on to their target. Every cannon was fully charged, gleaming with cold, deadly light.
The blue-skinned Chitauri Veteran Commander fixed his stern gaze ahead and issued a firm order to every soldier under his command:
"All units, take your positions. Fire at will and suppress the target. Work with the Mutants on the ground to capture the intruder alive."
Countless energy cannons finished charging. A dense barrage of blue bolts poured from the sky, blanketing the area as it bore down on Morlun, whom the Mutants had surrounded.
With fire raining from above and Mutants closing in on the ground, Morlun was trapped on every side.
He looked at the attacks filling the sky, then at the enemies surrounding him. At last, a trace of panic took hold.
The smug amusement with which he had toyed with his prey, along with his confidence as a hunter of Spider-Men across the Multiverse, vanished. All that remained was stifled fury and horror.
Elsewhere, Spider-Man stood beside Black Cat with all four arms spread wide, looking just as bewildered.
He stared at the Chitauri warships overhead, the Mutants at the end of the street, and the figure on a distant rooftop who looked unmistakably like Magneto. His mind went blank.
