Do whatever you want
"Cosmic Spider-Man, that sounds pretty good, but the responsibility is a bit too much." Spider-Man stretched his limbs to adapt to his new powers while receiving feedback from the universe.
"How is this possible?!" The Tyrant's Herald repeated over and over, on the verge of collapse.
"That's impossible. Galactus's power was defeated by that clown in the bodysuit... or rather, by a single sentence."
He stared at Silver Surfer, his face filled with disbelief.
"Who... who exactly did you bring with you?"
Silver Surfer was also shocked by the dramatic change before him, but after recovering from the Tyrant's Herald's questioning, a very faint smile appeared on his lips.
In any case, he seems to have made the right bet.
The era of the Galactus has ended, and his home planet is temporarily safe.
Spider-Man, having confirmed he had indeed won the lottery, was not overjoyed but instead asked Russell with some concern:
"Won't this turn me into some kind of cosmic threat?"
"Your daily routine includes rescuing cats, retrieving balloons from trees for children, giving directions to lost people, and helping elderly women cross the street."
Russell countered, "Do you think you'd become a cosmic threat?"
Spider-Man thought for a moment.
"Probably not," he said, stroking his chin, "But I might have my old friend expand the hot dog stand a bit."
"That'll do."
Galan stood in the void of the universe.
The man who was once Galactus now wore a tattered gray robe, his face aged and weary.
The eyes were blue, with a hollowness that seemed to have been drained of everything.
His body had shrunk to the size of an ordinary person, his skin was no longer covered with energy patterns, and his eyes were no longer dark red.
"Lord Galactus," the Tyrant's Herald, his voice trembling as he looked at Galactus, who had returned to human form, "You... your power."
"It's gone." Galan felt a profound peace after losing his cosmic power.
The Tyrant's Herald stared wide-eyed.
That's it?
"That's all," Galan nodded. "The Cosmic Will has chosen a new host, and now it has chosen him."
He pointed at Spider-Man.
"Although I don't know why, based on just one sentence, they chose a clown in a red and blue bodysuit."
Spider-Man raises one hand.
"Hi." He answered earnestly, like a student answering a question in class. "My name is Spider-Man, a friendly neighbor in New York City, not the Joker, I should correct that."
Galan didn't refute him, but quietly looked at him.
"That's for the best." His voice carried a hint of relief. "Since the Cosmic Will deems you worthy, it has given you those powers, and with them, endless hunger."
Spider-Man paused for a moment.
"Hunger?" he asked, puzzled. "Hunger of what?"
"This is the curse of the Galactus." Galan's eyes were filled with reminiscence. "That curse that made me unable to stop devouring, that curse that consumed countless planets, is now upon you."
"I'm cursed." Spider-Man looked down at his hands, which were soaked in Cosmic Energy.
"Okay, I knew this wouldn't be that simple."
You mean... I'm hungry now?
"Yes," Galan affirmed, "You'll be hungry. You'll feel that insatiable hunger, that hunger that makes you want to devour everything."
"This almost cursed hunger will drive anyone who gets it mad."
So, the Cosmic Spider-Man has become the Mad Spider-Man again.
Spider-Man stroked his chin thoughtfully for a moment, then looked up.
"Okay, then I'd like to ask, if I'm hungry now, what should I eat? A sausage or Pizza?"
"Neither," Galan shook his head in denial.
"Planets, you'll want to eat planets, you'll want to eat Kree Lal, you'll want to eat life-filled Planet, including the cities and life on those Planet."
"No," Spider-Man interrupted him.
Galan paused for a moment.
"What?"
"I said no," Spider-Man said. "I won't eat what you're talking about."
Galan sighed; he had said the same thing before.
"You can't control it. You can't control that hunger. I've tried for countless eras, but I still can't control it."
"That's you," Spider-Man said lightly. "And I am me."
He looked down at his hands.
"I have a friend—well, actually I have many friends—who thinks I'm a chatterbox and tells me to shut up."
Spider-Man looked up at Galan.
"But you know what? They never say, ' Spider-Man, can you please stop helping people?'"
They would never say, ' Spider-Man, can you please stop saving the cat?'
They would never say, ' Spider-Man, can you please stop being a bad neighbor?'
He paused.
"Because that's me, that's Spider-Man. I don't eat planets, I don't devour civilizations, and I don't let life scream in fear."
He looked at Galan.
"I would use these powers to help people, like rescuing cats, finding balloons, catching children who have fallen from buildings, and handing hot dogs to homeless people... These are the things Spider-Man should do."
After he finished speaking, he looked at Russell.
"Russell, I can now feel the entire universe, distant Galaxy, rotating planets, and life breathing in the darkness."
I could feel their pain, their fear, and their deep longing for hope.
He paused for a moment.
"I want to use these powers... to help them?"
Russell nodded slightly. "The power is yours; do whatever you want with it. Don't ask me."
"I understand." Spider-Man turned to look at Silver Surfer. "Silver Surfer."
Silver Surfer raised her head.
"You've lost your powers," Spider-Man said, holding up one finger. "But you still have me."
I'll share some with you, it's free.
An energy sphere floated from his fingertips, drifted to Silver Surfer, and merged into his body.
In that instant, Silver Surfer's body brightened again, the liquid metal began to flow again, and the starlight pupils began to rotate once more.
"You..." Silver Surfer's heart was filled with complex emotions, "You shared your power with me? Without any conditions."
Spider-Man never asks for anything in return for helping people.
Meanwhile, in outer space, Korath stared at the main screen, his mouth slightly agape.
"The power of Galactus was taken by that person in the red and blue bodysuit," he said in a low voice.
"And now he's preparing to use those powers to save people."
The communications officer's voice trembled. "Commander, that man in the red and blue bodysuit has become the new Galactus, and he doesn't seem to intend to devour Kree Lal. Is our mission simply complete?"
Korath nodded blankly.
"Send the footage back to headquarters and tell them that Kree Lal is saved, Russell, and that Spider-Man in the red and blue bodysuit. They saved the Planet."
He then added another sentence.
"Also, inform headquarters that Galactus's power now belongs to Spider-Man."
