Ch. 141The New Three-Tails Jinchūriki
Plot points and events
- Naruto asks Hinata whether he should remove the Caged Bird Seals from three Hyuga Branch Family ninja. Hinata sympathizes with them but hesitates, fearing her father Hiashi’s reaction and possible danger to him.
- Respecting Hinata’s reluctance, Naruto initially refuses to remove the seals. When the Branch ninja angrily demand that he do so, he kills all three with lightning. He then takes Hinata, Sakura, Haku, and Neji away.
- At his island base, Naruto uses Samehada to absorb the Three-Tails’ Chakra and divides it among the group: Haku receives two portions, Neji, Hinata, and Sakura one each, and Naruto keeps five. He seals the remaining, greatly diminished Three-Tails inside Sakura, making her its new Jinchūriki.
- After recovering, Sakura returns to Orochimaru’s base. She finds Orochimaru’s giant snake body dead and Sasuke standing nearby. Mistaking Sasuke for Orochimaru, she attacks him emotionally, then realizes he is still himself.
- Sakura happily tells Sasuke she has become the Three-Tails Jinchūriki, hoping her new strength will earn his approval. Sasuke inspects the beast and learns Naruto gave it to her. His reaction turns hostile, as he focuses on Naruto.
Character developments
- Hinata remains sympathetic to the Branch Family but is too fearful and conflicted to challenge her clan’s traditions directly.
- Naruto shows both consideration for Hinata’s wishes and ruthless violence when threatened. He continues gathering tailed-beast Chakra and distributing it to his allies.
- Sakura gains significant power but remains emotionally dependent on Sasuke’s recognition. Her elation at becoming a Jinchūriki quickly becomes entangled with her hopes for their future together.
- Sasuke has apparently killed Orochimaru and remains himself. His rivalry and hostility toward Naruto resurface when he learns Naruto was involved in Sakura’s transformation.
