Obito's ability was strange, but Jiraiya was a powerful Kage Level Ninja.
Jiraiya soon forced his way through again. Just as before, the moment Obito reached out to stop him, Jiraiya attacked.
Obito had learned from his mistake. This time, he reacted faster, dodging Jiraiya's hair attack while driving several Kunai into Jiraiya's body at point-blank range.

Jiraiya vanished in a cloud of white smoke.
It had only been Jiraiya's Shadow Clone. His real body was already long gone.
Obito was irritated. He would not let anyone interfere with Itachi and Sasuke's battle. He was counting on Itachi dying soon and Sasuke awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan so he could put Sasuke to use.
But now he had to call for help.
He ran through Akatsuki's current members. Itachi was holding off Sasuke's teammates, and the Female Avatar was unreliable. That left Pain.
Kakashi and the others were delighted to see Jiraiya break through. When the Masked Man disappeared, they assumed he had gone after Jiraiya and raced forward.
But less than a minute later, the Masked Man reappeared with an expressionless, mysterious man beside him.
"Look at his eyes! Could those be the legendary Rinnegan?" Kakashi cried.
Pain glanced impassively at the Konoha Ninja, then turned and went after Jiraiya. Obito blocked Kakashi and the others again.
Watching from high above, Naruto was surprised—and a little eager. It looked as though the battle between Pain and Jiraiya might happen early.
Today really was a special day. Every fated battle had converged at once!
"Who is that man, Naruto?" Minato Namikaze asked curiously. "Why does he have the Rinnegan?"
"Haha. He's another of Jiraiya's disciples. He doesn't seem to have much affection for Jiraiya, though. He might even kill him."
