"Mizukage, Tsuchikage, stop pretending to be asleep. It's not a good look!"

Uchiha Yoru spoke up.

Only then did the Tsuchikage and Mizukage wake, without the slightest embarrassment.

No wonder they were Kage. That composure was something else!

They had been waiting for Uchiha Yoru and Hiruko to wear each other down so they could swoop in and reap the rewards.

If Uchiha Yoru had shown the slightest sign of losing, they would have turned and run.

"You treacherous bastard! You had someone ambush me!"

Hiruko cursed wildly.

"This man appeared in Konoha, so Konoha's Anbu should be the ones to judge him!"

"Thank you all for coming to help Konoha so late at night!"

"Gaara and I will take him away now!"

Uchiha Yoru said with a smile.

"You want to take him away so you can find out how he acquired multiple Kekkei Genkai, don't you?" The Tsuchikage saw straight through Uchiha Yoru's intentions.

"We discovered this Ninjutsu together, so we should share it," Mei Terumi said. When her village was at stake, romance meant nothing.

If Uchiha Yoru were willing to marry into her village, though, she might consider it.

Raikage A walked over, having heard everything as well.

"Fine. Let's question him together!"

"He has the Sharingan, so I can't interrogate him. Find someone who can!"

Uchiha Yoru sat on the ground, watching them with the faintest smile.

Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique!

The technique could pull someone into his mental space. The victim would feel as though stakes had been driven into their body, lose all freedom of movement, and suffer the illusion of physical pain.

In the original story, this was the Ninjutsu used to subdue Kakashi and Orochimaru.

Inside the Genjutsu space.

"Talk! Tell me about the Chimera Technique!"

"If you tell me, I might let you live!"

Uchiha Yoru addressed Hiruko.

"You're just after my Chimera Technique. Forget it! Even if I die, I'll never give it to you!" Hiruko declared defiantly.

"Think about it. You already have five Kekkei Genkai. How many people in the entire Shinobi World could stand against you?"

"But if you die here, what a miserable end that would be! Aside from us, who would even know Hiruko existed?"

"You want Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade to see the Ninjutsu you created, don't you? To see how strong you've become! If you die now, what a tragedy!"

Uchiha Yoru shook his head as he spoke, as though he truly sympathized with him.

His words seemed to strike a nerve with Hiruko.

Hadn't he grown stronger to prove himself?

Hadn't he turned himself into something neither human nor monster just to prove himself to Jiraiya and the others?

"I'll give it to you, but you have to guarantee my safety!"

In the end, Hiruko could not hold out and gave in.

"That's more like it!"

"There's too much to the Chimera Technique for me to explain it all, so I can only give you the basics. The experiment records are in the hotel where we were staying. The Hand Seals to open the scroll are..."

"Mm-hmm!"

Uchiha Yoru could only go by instinct and assume Hiruko's account was more or less accurate. To know for certain, he would have to find Orochimaru.

"I've told you everything. You can let me go now, right?"

"Don't worry!"

Uchiha Yoru withdrew from the Genjutsu space.

Everything's ready. Now I just need the final piece!

The Raikage called Shee over.

Of the Ninja he had brought, Shee was the only one skilled in Genjutsu.

"Interrogate him. Find out how he acquired multiple Kekkei Genkai!"

"Yes, Lord Raikage!"

A stab of pain shot through Uchiha Yoru's eyes, and his lips curved into a smile.

That guy's here!

Just as Shee was about to cast his Genjutsu and interrogate Hiruko, a pair of hands appeared behind Hiruko, seized him, and pulled him out of that space.

"What happened?"

The Four Kage stared at one another, then turned their gazes on Uchiha Yoru, who sat with his eyes closed.

"Why are you looking at me?"

"I don't know what happened either!"

Raikage A roared, "Space-Time Ninjutsu! No question about it! Who else in the entire Shinobi World can use it besides you people from Konoha?"

"Does every Space-Time Ninjutsu user have to be from Konoha? By that logic, everyone who uses Lightning Release must be from Kumogakure!"

"If you can prove that person belongs to Konoha, I'll give you anything you ask for!"

Uchiha Yoru spoke angrily.

Then he turned to Kurotsuchi. "The Fireworks Festival is still on tonight. I know the best place to watch it. Let's go together!"

Without waiting to see whether Kurotsuchi would object, Uchiha Yoru took her hand and ran off.

"That guy never misses a chance to come out ahead!"

The rest of them had been fighting for their lives. As for him? Apart from the very end, he had barely lifted a finger all night!

And now he had run off with Kurotsuchi.

"My Kurotsuchi! Don't go! If that brat steals you away, what am I, your grandfather, supposed to do?"

Just moments earlier.

The Masked Man had sensed Kakashi using his Mangekyō and followed its disturbance here.

But when he arrived...

"Where's Kakashi?"

Obito Uchiha found the Four Kage and Uchiha Yoru surrounding someone.

Kakashi, the person he had hoped to see, was nowhere in sight.

Still, anyone the Four Kage had to deal with together could not be much weaker than the members of the Akatsuki.

Wouldn't it be a waste not to bring him into the organization?

And so the scene from moments ago had unfolded.

Inside Obito Uchiha's space, Hiruko was bewildered. Who am I? Where am I?

"I saved you. Aren't you going to thank me?"

The Masked Man's low voice reached his ears.

"Thank you!"

"Who are you? Where are we?" Hiruko tried to keep his tone as mild as possible.

He now knew there were always people stronger than him. A little caution could not hurt.

"We're inside my space!"

"And I..."

"My name is Madara Uchiha!"

"Didn't Madara die long ago?" Just as Obito Uchiha had expected, Hiruko looked shocked, though disbelief still covered his face.

"Why couldn't Madara have survived?" the Masked Man said.

"That is my goal: to create a True World! I'm sure you've grown to hate the darkness of the real world too. This world holds nothing but sorrow!"

"Follow me. My organization already has several S-rank Missing-nin, and our plan is about to begin!"

The Masked Man spoke.

Hiruko seemed drawn in. Perhaps it was partly because the other man held all the power here. This unfamiliar space left him feeling anything but safe.

"Since you've agreed, stay in this space for now. I'll take you back to our organization!"

Madara said.

As Obito Uchiha left the space, a smile appeared beneath his mask. Madara Uchiha's name certainly came in handy!
