Gaara's Revival, Tobi Joins the Akatsuki

"We're too late!"

When Kakashi and the others saw Gaara lying on the ground, sorrow welled up inside Yugito.

Chiyo felt it most keenly. She had witnessed the deaths of three Kazekage of Sunagakure.

Was the position of Kazekage truly cursed? Not one of them had stepped down normally!

The Third Kazekage had been assassinated by his own grandson, the Fourth Kazekage had been assassinated, and the Fifth Kazekage had died after the Akatsuki extracted the tailed beast from him.

"I won't let this happen!"

Chiyo made up her mind.

"Kakashi, son of the White Fang, will you promise me something?"

"If Gaara wakes up, ask him to forgive Sasori. And if you can, bring my grandson back from the path he's taken," Chiyo said.

Kakashi had a growing sense that Chiyo might truly have a way.

"I know I'm asking too much, but this is the last wish of an old woman about to die!"

Chiyo placed her hand on Gaara, preparing to use that Ninjutsu.

"Oh! Am I late?"

Uchiha Yoru appeared before them with a backpack on his back.

"Teacher Yoru, you're here!" The others looked as though they had seen a savior.

Uchiha Yoru greeted them, walked over to Gaara, and opened his backpack. A tiny tanuki appeared before them.

"That's Shukaku!"

"Yeah! He's pretty cute when he isn't talking!"

"Seal Shukaku inside Gaara! I don't know if we're in time!"

Uchiha Yoru lifted Gaara's shirt and formed Hand Seals. The tiny Shukaku flowed into Gaara's body like water.

A long while passed.

The miracle did not come. Gaara showed no sign of recovery and remained lifeless.

"Too much time has passed," Uchiha Yoru said, shaking his head.
