- Entrance — A stone door in the Holy Shadow’s Red Cloud Suite leads down a long staircase to a bronze door. Lin Yun opens the bronze door to enter the realm 8 9 10.
- Interior — An immense space of shifting light and shadow, with no apparent up or down. Its ground feels solid but has no texture 10.
- Eye of the Center — A vast black pupil within the realm. Its disturbance causes cracks to spread through the surrounding space; its core consciousness is linked to the awakening of the Master of the Mirror 10 12.
- Core of Consciousness — A deeper domain reached through a previously unopened door. Entering it disrupts ordinary space and time and threatens Yan Zhi’s memories, emotions, and sense of self 16.

Copies and Projections
- The realm replicates and projects consciousness: Bai Mo encounters countless versions of himself after entering it, but says Yan Zhi cannot be copied 11.
- The Eye produces mindless copies that instinctively capture, replace, and reconstruct. As the realm destabilizes, they emerge through its cracks 12 13.
- Mirror shards also display severed remnants resembling Yan Zhi. She warns that these false versions seek to replace her 15.
Influence on Reality and Consciousness
- Bai Mo warns that a leaking entrance is linked to disturbances and disappearances aboard the Holy Shadow. He claims the unchecked realm could consume the ship and replace its passengers with copies 10.
- The realm can distort thought and pull at consciousness; Yan Zhi senses it trying to absorb both her and Jiu Jia Yi 17.
- Once the entrance is fully open, Yan Zhi says they cannot simply shut it. Their proposed escape depends on awakening the Eye’s core consciousness and being released 12.
History
Bai Mo enters the Mirror Realm three years before the events aboard the Holy Shadow. He discovers its self-replicating nature and later brings Lin Yun there, believing she alone can activate the Eye of the Center and close its rift 10 11.
At the Eye, Lin Yun recovers memories of an earlier identity and reveals her name as Yan Zhi. The Eye opens wide, and cracks spread across the realm. Yan Zhi approaches its awakening consciousness while copies advance through the ruptures 10 12 13.
Bai Mo identifies Yan Zhi as the final key keeping the realm intact and enabling its awakening. He warns that controlling her merger with the Eye could let her rewrite the domain, while failure would leave her trapped as the next Mirror Master, stripped of her former self 14. Yan Zhi enters the Core of Consciousness with Jiu Jia Yi; later, her incantation makes the darkness recede and begins healing tears in the collapsing space 16 18.
