Background / History
As Lin Yun, Yan Zhi remembers a brother whose final call warned her not to seek Bai Mo. Her search for the truth brings her to the Holy Shadow’s Red Cloud Suite, where Bai Mo claims that her brother made her the price of opening a door ten years earlier. She chooses to open it despite not knowing what she will find 5 7 8 9.
Inside the Mirror Realm, she recalls that Lin Yun was an identity she wore after choosing to forget. She gives Jiu Jia Yi her real name, Yan Zhi. Her recovered memories suggest that her first entry into the realm changed her fate, though the full extent of that past remains unclear 11 12 14.
Appearance
Yan Zhi’s eyes take on a faint blue glow as she approaches the Mirror Realm. During her fusion with the Eye of the Center, her appearance changes further 9 13.

- Fusion markings — flowing, rune-like patterns spread across her skin 13.
- Third eye — a nearly invisible vertical eye opens on her brow during fusion 13.
Personality
Yan Zhi is determined to learn who she is, even when the door assaults her mind and the Mirror Realm threatens to erase her memories. She rejects both Bai Mo’s account of her fate and the realm’s attempts to define her through copies of herself 9 14 18.
Her composure conceals a fear that Jiu Jia Yi will reject her if he sees how fractured she feels. She initially tries to keep him away from the Eye, but gradually accepts his decision to face it with her 13 15 16 17.
