The projection of the Divine Kingdom enveloping the Holy City shook violently.
A breath later, the projection shattered with a snap, and Jiang Hao saw what lay inside:
Magitech Puppets lay in pieces. Druids, Priests, and Angels had suffered heavy casualties, while every Divine Attendant bore wounds. Some Outsiders, affected by the Divine Kingdom projection, had been unable to trigger the Call of War Pact's rule that sent them back when gravely wounded or near death, leaving their corpses on the Main Plane.
As soon as the projection vanished, Edathis, Goddess of the Spring, and Elona, Goddess of the Forest, seized their chance. Each reached into the void and drew out a weapon.
Edathis held a Seven-Stringed Lyre. Elona held a wooden Stringless Longbow.
Beautiful music rang out. A vivid green glow flew from the Stringless Longbow and struck Gond De Frank, God of Craftsmen, squarely.
Boom—
"Go to the Headquarters of the Church of the Three Gods in the Holy Vixima Kingdom, then pray to me."
Jiang Hao sent his voice down the connection between himself and Hectos, God of Flame.
A Divine Descent ritual reduced the Divine Power a God expended on the Main Plane. Even without the ritual, he could still descend through his connection to a being there.
"Praise you, my great master! Your will is everything to me."
When Hectos heard Jiang Hao's voice from beyond, he immediately showered the empty air with flattery. Then the light of teleportation flared.
When the light faded, Hectos saw the Holy City. Three figures whose mere presence terrified him were locked in battle. The Rules governing the Main Plane were being altered in all directions, becoming a tangled mess.
