In the gray-toned corridor, a single eye sketched in lines opened in the void and gazed coldly at Avram Krell.
Though he could not see the Eye of Horus, Avram Krell was a Scholar with keen perception. He immediately sensed another pair of eyes watching him.
Unlike the malicious gaze from before, this new gaze was utterly cold.
Has that divine lord turned his gaze on me? Thinking ill of a god really is... Avram Krell suddenly remembered the blasphemous words he had spoken earlier. He shuddered and forced a smile.
"Your Highness, please forgive my offense."
If your malice toward me weren't part of the fate I wove, I'd run you through with Gungnir... Jiang Hao shifted his gaze upward. Graycastle's disguise was rapidly peeling away, revealing countless writhing, nauseating chunks of flesh.
Avram Krell's boots stood on the flesh, yellow slime coating them. Dense clusters of tentacles and eyes watched him, yet he remained completely unaware.
Graycastle had become this? Something was definitely wrong with the God of Knowledge. How could an ancient, powerful God suddenly fall? Had something happened in the Outer Void? No, probably not. If something had happened in the Outer Void, the gods would not have remained oblivious.
Jiang Hao watched the revolting tentacles, but they did not seem to detect the Eye of Horus.
Their perception doesn't seem very sharp. If it were, they'd have noticed me watching... But that can wait. First, I need to get Avram Krell out of Graycastle.
He took out the Wheel of Fortune and began to weave.
