He met Xiao Wu at Nording Academy when he was six, and the two remained close for six years. She treated him as her brother. Even as a young child, he displayed adult composure and could manufacture complex hidden weapons without Xiao Wu ever seeing him learn those skills 3 32.

While living in Nuoding City, Tang San heard a blacksmith describe the renowned Clear Sky Douluo, Tang Hao. Comparing the man's name, age, profession, and Martial Soul with his father's, he deduced his own Clear Sky Sect ancestry and the identity of his second Martial Soul 36.

Tang Hao subsequently told him that Xiao Wu was a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in human form. Tang San later confirmed her identity through the Purple Demon Eye. Rose Hotel and Shrek Enrollment

Tang San first notices Lin Xiao when Xiao Wu meets the stranger's gaze. During his fight with Dai Mubai at the Rose Hotel, Lin Xiao approaches her and subsequently presents himself as injured by Tang San's attack. Xiao Wu insists that they take responsibility and let him stay in their room, overriding Tang San's objections 1 2 3.

The next day, Tang San tries to redirect Lin Xiao to another academy by invoking Shrek's level-twenty-one admission requirement. Xiao Wu instead supports waiting for a possible exception 5.

Shrek Entrance Examination

Tang San intends to organize the candidates and become their commander, but Lin Xiao introduces the strategy first and wins the others' support. Tang San reluctantly follows his orders to preserve his own admission chances 7 8.

During the battle, he deliberately opens a gap in the Blue Silver Grass encirclement, allowing Zhao Wuji to charge Lin Xiao. His aim is to have Lin Xiao eliminated or seriously injured. Lin Xiao overturns the situation, and all five candidates become Shrek students 9 10.

Growing Rivalry and Xiao Wu's Distrust

Lin Xiao's rapid cultivation and Heaven-Bestowed Soul Rings intensify Tang San's fear of being surpassed. His hope that Dai Mubai will badly injure or kill Lin Xiao also fails when Lin Xiao defeats Dai Mubai 12 18 19 20.

Tang San's attempts to limit Xiao Wu's contact with Lin Xiao damage their relationship. Her system-recorded favorability toward him falls from 75 to 73, and is later recorded at 67 after he interrupts her request for cultivation guidance 3 4 22.

Lin Xiao then reveals Tang San's transmigration and alleged future schemes to Xiao Wu, using memory-fragment evidence as part of his explanation. Dark Cloud Leopard Plot

While traveling toward the Star Dou Great Forest, Tang San locates a ten-thousand-year Dark Cloud Leopard, provokes it, and leads it toward camp. Dai Mubai's activity around Lin Xiao's tent and the use of powder form part of the plan to make the beast attack Lin Xiao before Zhao Wuji can intervene 39 40.

Lin Xiao survives and kills the beast. Zhao Wuji strongly suspects Tang San and Dai Mubai, but lacks evidence sufficient to act against them and instead increases his vigilance 40 41 47.

Third Soul Ring and Failed Rescue

After Er Ming takes Xiao Wu, Tang San rushes after them, hoping to stage a rescue that will secure her love. He also reasons that the Titan Giant Ape may know her and could become a valuable ally 46.

Lin Xiao sends his clones ahead to kill nearby Man Faced Demon Spiders, blocking the encounter that would otherwise have given Tang San a two-thousand-year Soul Ring and an External Soul Bone. He then ambushes Tang San and knocks him unconscious 27 47.

Tang San eventually obtains a Third Soul Ring from a sixteen-hundred-year-old Blazing Flame Tiger. Zhao Wuji's group finds and guards him through its absorption. His satisfaction collapses when Lin Xiao returns with Xiao Wu and she announces that Lin Xiao has already reached level thirty-four 50.
