Background / History
Dai Mubai fled the Star Luo Empire for the Heaven Dou Empire because he feared persecution by his elder brother, Dai Weisi. Although already engaged to Zhu Zhuqing, he escaped alone. Dai Weisi and his fiancée, Zhu Zhuyun, subsequently targeted Zhu Zhuqing, who endured repeated assassination attempts before leaving to find Dai Mubai and seek a way to change their shared fate 15.
During his years at Shrek Academy, Dai Mubai neglected his training and spent his time drinking and pursuing women in Suotuo City. The Goddess Codex describes him as a notorious playboy who had been with at least a hundred women, spent money extravagantly, and frequently changed partners. Zhu Zhuqing discovered this behavior after witnessing him leave the Rose Hotel with twin women 15.

Personality
Dai Mubai is proud of both his strength and royal birth. When Lin Xiao challenges him, he treats a commoner’s defiance as grounds for killing and assumes that revealing his identity would force even the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect to back down. This confidence ignores that he is living in territory governed by the rival Heaven Dou Empire 19.
His approach to women is possessive and demeaning. Ma Hongjun repeats Dai Mubai’s claim that women are “resources, not people,” provoking condemnation from Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong. Dai Mubai later insists internally that Zhu Zhuqing’s engagement binds her to him regardless of her resistance 18 23.
His restraint toward Zhu Zhuqing is partly strategic: he needs her cooperation to develop a Martial Soul Fusion Skill and challenge Dai Weisi. Rejection nevertheless provokes visible anger—he dents a dining table after she refuses to speak with him and becomes jealous when she greets or accompanies Lin Xiao 16 18 23.

Rose Hotel Confrontation
Dai Mubai first appears fighting Tang San over a hotel room. Their clash occupies Tang San while Lin Xiao approaches Xiao Wu. Dai Mubai eventually ends the fight and says he looks forward to seeing them at Shrek Academy 1 2.
Failed Reconciliation
After returning to the academy, Dai Mubai tries to speak with Zhu Zhuqing about their engagement. She slips past him and leaves, prompting him to strike the table in frustration. The next morning, she ignores him again but greets Lin Xiao, intensifying his jealousy 14 16 18.
Defeat by Lin Xiao
When Dai Mubai threatens Ning Rongrong, Lin Xiao stands between them. Dai Mubai challenges the newcomer and launches White Tiger Fierce Light Wave with the intention of killing him. Lin Xiao’s First Soul Skill destroys both the attack and White Tiger Protection Barrier, inflicting severe wounds in a single strike despite Dai Mubai’s twelve-level advantage 18 19.
Lin Xiao refrains from attacking again. Dai Mubai loses consciousness and is taken for treatment on Flender’s orders. The victory completes Lin Xiao’s system mission and earns him a Ten Thousand Year Second Soul Ring 19 20.
Aftermath
By lunch, Dai Mubai is back in the cafeteria, brooding over losing at level 37 to a level-25 newcomer. Zhu Zhuqing’s arrival with Lin Xiao renews his jealousy, but he continues to regard their marriage contract as decisive over her wishes 23.
