Background / History

Qian Daoliu served as Spirit Hall’s Great Enshrined and the Angel Temple’s High Priest. During his original lifetime, he forced the Clear Sky Sect to seal its mountain and withdraw from worldly affairs rather than exterminating it. He later sacrificed himself so his granddaughter, Qian Renxue, could complete the Angel God Trial and inherit the Angel Godhood. Remnants of his soul survived within her godhood and the Angel God Sword 2 22 32.

Approximately ten thousand years later, Feng Xuanyuan extracted his remnant soul from the sword and rebuilt his body and soul in the Immortal Spirit Pool. Qian Daoliu awakened with his sacrifice as his last memory, initially wondering whether he had ascended to the Divine Realm. Qian Renxue reunited with him and explained Spirit Hall’s destruction, Tang San’s dual godhoods, and Feng Xuanyuan’s restoration of the angel legacy 22.

Angered by Spirit Hall’s fate, Qian Daoliu nevertheless expressed gratitude to its savior. Feng Xuanyuan asked him to address him as his grandson-in-law rather than bow before him, then offered a path toward godhood through purifying Evil Soul Masters. He also tasked Qian Daoliu with confronting Tang Hao and Ah Yin 22.

Appearance

  • After resurrection, he resembles a handsome middle-aged man with fair skin and long, pale-gold hair carrying a faint divine glow 22.
  • His build is lean rather than muscular, and he stands with a perfectly straight back 22.
  • Three pairs of enormous golden angel wings extend behind him, their layered feathers radiating holy light 22.
  • His manifested Martial Soul appears as a six-winged angel holding a holy sword engulfed in golden flames 25.

Personality

Qian Daoliu is deeply attached to his granddaughter and the survival of Spirit Hall’s legacy. Learning that Tang San destroyed the organization fills him with anger, particularly because he had previously spared the Clear Sky Sect from annihilation. His devotion to cleansing evil is uncompromising: he destroys Sleep Nightmare Douluo and executes Du Weilun when the Shrek official attempts to reclaim Huo Yuhao after abandoning him 22 25.

His hostility toward Shrek does not prevent respect for an individual opponent. He admires Mu En’s courage, offers him healing and a future in Spirit Hall, and accepts his refusal to abandon the academy. That respect coexists with political calculation: he later makes access to Mu En’s Dragon Core and the possibility of reunion conditional on Bei Bei joining Spirit Hall, unwilling to strengthen a potential future enemy 30 31 32 39.

He is openly dismissive of Yu Xiaogang, whom he remembers as a fraud with stolen theories. Mu En’s strength and resolve surprise him precisely because Mu En descends from that lineage 31.

Abilities & Skills

Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul

His Martial Soul manifests overwhelming holy radiance, particularly effective against evil and incorporeal powers 25.

  • Angel Holy Light: Dispels the supernatural cold and shadows surrounding Huo Yuhao 25.
  • Martial Soul purification: Completely suppresses and destroys Sleep Nightmare Douluo’s incorporeal Nightmare Demon Martial Soul 25.
  • Holy flames: Reduce Sleep Nightmare Douluo’s body to ashes after his Martial Soul is purified 25.
  • Purification-based growth: Cleansing evil increases Qian Daoliu’s cultivation, providing the route Feng Xuanyuan recommends for reaching Quasi-God 22 25.

Angel Wings and Flight

  • Travels through the air as a golden streak and carries Huo Yuhao to the Spirit Hall fleet 25 26.
  • Uses his three pairs of wings to shield the young people beside him aboard the flagship 30.

Angel God Sword Techniques

  • Defensive intervention: Cuts through the lingering force of Gods’ Dusk to protect the mortally wounded Mu En 32.
  • Angel Fire Dragon Formation: Unleashes a dragon-shaped attack that combines with Xu Yi’s phoenix attack to split and bring down the Golden Ancient Tree 32.
  • Remnant-soul preservation: Uses light of a shared origin to draw Mu En’s remnant soul into the sword, preventing Tang Hao and Ah Yin from consuming it 38.
  • Limit: Preserving Mu En’s soul does not itself resurrect him; Qian Daoliu intends to ask Feng Xuanyuan to perform the resurrection 38.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Angel God Sword — Qian Renxue’s restored divine artifact, wielded by Qian Daoliu during the Shrek campaign. It supports his combat techniques and stores Mu En’s remnant soul 2 31 32 38.
  • Mu En’s Dragon Core — Entrusted to him for Bei Bei, with the potential to awaken the Light Sacred Dragon inheritance 32 39.

Relationships

  • Qian Renxue — Granddaughter. He sacrificed himself for her Angel God inheritance; their tearful reunion restores their family bond after ten thousand years 2 22.
  • Feng Xuanyuan — Grandson-in-law and resurrector. Rebuilds Qian Daoliu’s body and soul, offers him a future Godhood, and directs his campaign against Evil Soul Masters 22.
  • Huo Yuhao — Rescued and protected by Qian Daoliu after Shrek officials betray him. Yuhao willingly leaves with him and later asks him to save Mu En 25 31.
  • Golden Crocodile Douluo / Jin Wuyi — Spirit Hall’s current Great Enshrined. Recognizes Qian Daoliu from his portrait and welcomes him with reverence; Qian Daoliu recognizes the familiar Golden Crocodile King lineage 26.
  • Mu En — Respected enemy. Qian Daoliu attempts to save and recruit him, accepts his final request, and preserves his remnant soul 31 32 38.
  • Bei Bei — Recipient of Mu En’s entrusted legacy and a recruit to Spirit Hall. Swears allegiance after Qian Daoliu offers the prospect of reunion with Mu En 32 39.
  • Xu Yi — Battlefield ally. Their combined divine-sword attacks destroy the Golden Ancient Tree 32.
  • Bibi Dong — Former rival within Spirit Hall. Their old power struggles lose significance after ten thousand years; she protects him when Tang Hao and Ah Yin attempt to attack 38.
  • Tang San, Tang Hao, and Ah Yin — Enemies associated with Spirit Hall’s destruction and the Golden Ancient Tree’s soul-devouring scheme. Qian Daoliu condemns their actions and intervenes against the tree 22 32 38.
