Background and History

A hundred thousand years before his awakening, the Phoenix God and Dragon God fought for dominion over the Divine Realm for three thousand years. Both were gravely wounded; the Phoenix God's body shattered, and he fell to Douluo Star. Feng Xuanyuan crossed into this world at the moment of that fall and spent most of the following hundred thousand years asleep, recovering through the Sleep System 1.

While he slept, his Creation Godhead formed mountains, rivers and forests across his true body, turning it into the floating Phoenix God Continent. Humans and Soul Beasts settled there and came to worship him. He used their accumulated faith to establish the Phoenix God Realm within his body and nurture godhoods there 1.

When wars on the continent disturbed his sleep ten thousand years ago, Feng Xuanyuan formed a human avatar, subdued the warring nations and founded the Spirit Hall Empire. He later rescued survivors of Spirit Hall's destruction on Douluo Continent and brought them into the empire. Qian Renxue became his partner and governed the Phoenix God Realm during his next long sleep 2.

Appearance

Feng Xuanyuan's true form is a True Phoenix so vast that an inhabited continent rests on his back. Its mountains and cities remain steady even when he moves 1.

• Projected form — Appears as a figure in a black-and-white Daoist robe 1.
• Divine presence — On awakening, his eyes emitted chaotic divine light; a single breath cleared clouds across tens of thousands of miles 1.

Personality

Feng Xuanyuan treats the civilization living on his body with approving affection and is playful with Qian Renxue. He is also willing to turn a major conflict into what he calls a game: rather than immediately conquer Douluo and Sun Moon, he chooses to let the Spirit Hall Empire's younger generation dismantle Tang San's arrangements at Shrek Academy 1 2 9.

He recognizes that the Sky Screen can expose the Phoenix God Continent to new worshippers, increasing the faith available to his realm. Despite detecting hidden traps across Douluo Star, he leaves them in place to see how events unfold 3.

• Seals Douluo Star off from the Douluo God Realm, preventing passages from being opened to the plane 18 20.

Phoenix True Fire and Swordsmanship
