All sorts of intelligence?
At the Sky Screen's explanation, the people of the Douluo Continent immediately perked up.
If they could learn about that continent, could they find it—or even enslave it?
Many Soul Master sects had the same thought. A new continent meant new resources, new Soul Beasts, and new treasures.
If they could find the Northern Underworld Continent and claim it, the strength of every sect on the Douluo Continent would soar.
[Ning Fengzhi: I am Ning Fengzhi, sect master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Would our friends on the Northern Underworld Continent introduce yourselves?]
Ning Fengzhi had opened the conversation, and the other leaders of the Douluo Continent quietly waited for a reply.
But however long they waited, no answer came. The portion of the Sky Screen marked [Northern Underworld Continent] remained utterly silent.
Then Yu Xiaogang seemed to realize something and hurriedly posted his guess on the Sky Screen.
[Yu Xiaogang: Oh, I understand! I understand everything!] [Tang San: Teacher, what have you understood?] [Yu Xiaogang: Of course! Based on my scholarly analysis, the Northern Underworld Continent must be a rather primitive continent!] [Yu Xiaogang: Precisely because it's so primitive, its people have no way to communicate through the Sky Screen!] [Tang San: So that's it! As expected of you, Teacher—the Grandmaster recognized across the Douluo Continent. Your reasoning is sound!]
In the Northern Underworld Sea, Bei Mingxue and her ministers had long since connected to the Sky Screen. But they could not fathom what it was, so they had not dared act rashly.
When they saw that so-called Grandmaster on the Douluo Continent spouting bullshit, some of the military officers could no longer hold back.
"Your Majesty, it seems those people on the Douluo Continent don't even know we exist. They don't have any records of us."
"That's only natural. It's been over ten thousand years since we last came into contact with the Douluo Continent. Most of its current powers are probably only a few thousand years old."
"Besides, our continent moves frequently. It's no surprise they have no records."
A white-robed elder stroked his beard as he explained. He was Qiu Beiling, dean of the Northern Underworld Empire's strongest Soul Tool academy.
"And what sort of bullshit is this Grandmaster talking?"
A military officer in black armor snorted. "He calls the Northern Underworld Continent primitive? If you ask me, they're the primitive ones!"
"Calm yourself, General Long."
As dean of the Northern Underworld History Academy, Hui Wentao stepped forward and recounted what was known of the Douluo Continent:
"According to historical records, our continent bordered theirs a thousand years ago. Our investigations found it extremely primitive. Forget Soul Tools—even their variety of Martial Souls amounted to less than a tenth of ours."
"General Long, their ignorance is their own affair. You must not lose your composure before Her Majesty over it."
"I understand."
General Long nodded. "Your Majesty, forgive my disrespect."
"It's fine."
Bei Mingxue waved a hand. She was none too pleased with this Yu Xiaogang either.
She was the empress of the Northern Underworld Empire. Her empire had a long history, and Soul Guidance Technology existed alongside Martial Souls. Yet that man had called it a backwater. Was he not slapping both her and her ancestors in the face?
"Elder Di, what do you think?"
Elder Di bowed with a smile. "Your Majesty, I suggest we do nothing rash. We should contact the Progenitor and ask for his instructions."
"Mm."
Bei Mingxue nodded. "That was my thought as well."
Deep beneath the sea, Bei Mingyuan was equally troubled. The Sky Screen was exceedingly strange. Who knew what mighty being might have laid this trap?
But on second thought, why would anyone bother scheming against a small fry like him? Still, the Sky Screen was undeniably real.
It hung above Douluo Star. His existence would be discovered sooner or later, so he could neither interfere with it nor ignore it.
"Troublesome. Very troublesome."
No matter how he turned it over in his mind, Bei Mingyuan could reach no conclusion. He was a Kunpeng, but only a juvenile. Both his Law Treasures and his Bloodline Divine Abilities were still weak. He could run rampant in the Douluo World, but in the Primordial World...
"Forget it. There's no use thinking about that now."
Bei Mingyuan decided to meet soldiers with generals and floods with earthworks.
"In that case..."
Bei Mingyuan sent instructions for them to watch and wait. They would first see how detailed this so-called intelligence was, then decide what to do.
The Divine Mark between Bei Mingxue's brows flashed. She received Bei Mingyuan's message and nodded slightly. "Yes, Ancestor."
The next moment, Bei Mingyuan's words reached the minds of every Soul Master and Soul Beast on the Northern Underworld Continent who had access to the Sky Screen.
With the Progenitor's instructions received, they all fell silent and waited for the Sky Screen's next move.
When the people of the Douluo Continent saw that the Northern Underworld Continent still showed no sign of activity, their unease only grew.
Of course they did not believe that fool Yu Xiaogang's guess. The Northern Underworld Continent was primitive? Bullshit.
Why would the Sky Screen connect to a continent with nothing on it and no way to communicate with the outside world? What purpose would that serve—taking up space?
Time ticked by. Neither continent spoke again. The Northern Underworld Continent was not particularly concerned, but the people of the Douluo Continent found the wait agonizing.
At last, they began chatting among themselves in the livestream again, tacitly avoiding the subject of the Northern Underworld Continent.
For them, dealing with their own affairs came first.
After an unknown length of time, the sky screen system stirred again. A new announcement appeared in the Northern Underworld Continent's livestream.
[Continental intelligence synchronization commencing...] [The first round of real-time intelligence from the Douluo Continent will be released shortly...] [Douluo Continent breaking updates:] [Yu Xiaogang wept with joy after finally shedding his reputation as a half-level Soul Power weakling and reaching the Soul Elder realm. Last night, he dragged Luo Sanpao into a dance that lasted an hour.] [Tang Hao has brought Tang San to a Waterfall, preparing to let him meet his mother, the Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast Blue Silver Emperor.] [Deep in the Star Dou Great Forest, Da Ming and Er Ming have been longing for Sister Xiao Wu's return, but they have received no word from her.]
At those three reports, the people of the Douluo Continent fell silent for a rare few seconds.
[Dai Mubai: Um... Grandmaster? Are you all right?]
Yu Xiaogang's face had gone scarlet. Dancing had been a private little celebration, yet the Sky Screen had exposed it.
``` [Ning Rongrong: Hahaha! I never knew you had this side to you, Grandmaster! Dancing with Luo Sanpao? I'm dying!]
[Yu Xiaogang: Nonsense! Utter nonsense! This sky screen system is making things up! I didn't do it! That wasn't me! Stop spreading rumors!
Lies! All lies! The Sky Screen fabricated the whole thing! Nothing of the sort ever happened!]
