Background / History
Gu Yue is the Silver Dragon King, concealed among the students of Eastsea Academy. Having suffered serious injuries, she chose to restart her cultivation rather than rely on her former strength. Her long-term goals are to obtain the Golden Dragon King Bloodline, return to her peak, become the Dragon God, and restore the Soul Beast Clan 9 18.
After entering the human world, she experienced unexplained memory loss and the emergence of Na’er as a separate personality. She initially believed these problems originated within herself. Following her defeat by Li Qingxun, she began to suspect that Tang San or Tang Hao had planted a power inside her that altered her judgment and prevented her from harming Tang Wulin 18.
Li Qingxun later identified the influence as likely originating from the Love God’s power, which he believed Tang San had appropriated. This explanation remains his assessment: Gu Yue herself could not identify the power’s source 18 19.
Appearance
Gu Yue presents herself as an ordinary-looking girl, concealing the beauty associated with her true identity 11.
- Hair: Long and black, usually tied in a ponytail 3.
- Eyes: Normally black; during her crisis in Li Qingxun’s dormitory, they become purple with vertical slit pupils 15.
- Expression: Initially calm and detached 3.
- Draconic features: Pale silver scales appear across her body when she releases the power that breaks Li Qingxun’s ice restraints 17.
Personality
Gu Yue usually maintains a composed, detached manner, but her protectiveness toward Tang Wulin can overwhelm her caution. After discovering his injured arm, she confronts Li Qingxun and escalates their duel despite the danger of close combat. Li’s provocations anger her enough to reveal Ultimate Attributes she normally conceals 3 9 10.
Once she recognizes the outside influence on her mind, Gu Yue places her independence and the Soul Beast Clan’s future above her attachment to Tang Wulin. She refuses to abandon the possibility of becoming the Dragon God for love. Although frightened and frustrated by her vulnerability, she accepts a costly bargain with Li Qingxun to regain the freedom to act 18 19.
She can acknowledge help despite an earlier feud: after her involuntary hostility is checked, she apologizes to Li Qingxun, and later bows to thank him for temporarily freeing her will 18 19.
Abilities & Skills
Elemental Control
As the Silver Dragon King, Gu Yue possesses innate command over seven elements. Ice and water are described as two aspects of the same element, and she possesses both Ultimate Ice and Ultimate Water 10.
- Fire: Creates two large, high-grade fireballs and attacks from opposite sides 10.
- Wind: Disperses mist with a powerful gust 10.
- Terrain manipulation: Collapses the ground beneath an opponent into a large pit 10.
- Concealment: Usually limits her displayed elements to mid- or high-grade power rather than revealing their Ultimate Attributes 10.
- Current limitation: After restarting cultivation, she cannot safely jump from a third-floor window using her present wind control 20.
Ice-Fire Windstorm
Ice-Fire Windstorm combines ice, fire, and wind into a destructive tornado. It is the strongest technique Gu Yue can wield during her duel with Li Qingxun 10.
- Draws nearby objects and opponents toward the storm 10.
- Uses raging wind to shatter ice entering it 10.
- Can combine three Ultimate Attributes when she stops concealing their true grade 10.
- Is defeated by Li Qingxun’s Reality Distortion, which reverses the expected outcome and allows his ice sword to pierce the storm 10 19.
Spiritual Strength and Perception
Gu Yue retains exceptional spiritual strength despite rebuilding her cultivation. Li Qingxun considers her mental power greater than his own and believes he would lose a direct confrontation with her inside the dream he creates 18.
- Detects the lingering cold in Tang Wulin’s injured body 9.
- Senses Li Qingxun’s presence within the Spirit Ascension Platform 23.
- Her spiritual strength contributes to the brief recovery of her consciousness after Li’s Reality Distortion affects her 19.
Silver Dragon Power
Gu Yue can release silver energy and manifest draconic scales even in her reduced state 17.
- Shatters the Ice Chain binding her limbs 17.
- Uses surging silver power while attempting to stabilize her condition, although it does not remove the influence within her consciousness 18.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Class Zero and Conflict with Li Qingxun
- Gu Yue is seated beside Tang Wulin when Wu Changkong introduces Li Qingxun to Class Zero 3.
- After noticing Tang Wulin’s injury, she interrupts Wu’s match with Li and challenges Li herself 9 10.
- Li defeats her by piercing Ice-Fire Windstorm and striking her shoulder. He then kicks her down when Tang Wulin attempts to intervene 10 11.
- Wu Changkong judges her final attack to have been intended to kill, orders her to apologize, and assigns extra training. She reluctantly apologizes after Li displays nine snowy swords 11.
- The next morning, she sits apart from Tang Wulin, watching Li with hostility and a tangled emotion the other students do not understand 13.
Crisis of Consciousness
- Gu Yue climbs into Li Qingxun’s dormitory through his window while struggling with killing intent. She strikes her own forehead and collapses, leaving him uncertain about her motives 15.
- Li binds her while she is unconscious. Upon waking, she breaks the restraints and confronts him, but he redirects her hostility with Reality Distortion 16 17 18.
- In a dream created by Li, she explains her missing memories, Na’er’s emergence, and the power preventing her from harming Tang Wulin. She also recognizes that both this influence and their dragon bloodlines reinforce her affection for him 18.
Bargain for Temporary Freedom
- Li uses a simulated Hypnotist ability to make Gu Yue forget the influence for approximately five or six days. The power remains inside her rather than being removed 19.
- His price for assistance is at least ten Ten-Thousand-Year Spirit Herbs and more than twenty Thousand-Year Spirit Herbs 19.
- Gu Yue accepts and plans to take Tang Wulin’s bloodline within two days, believing that even a fraction of its power would weaken the suppression. The provided chapters do not show her carrying out that plan 19.
- Leaving Li’s room, she passes Tang Wulin and Xie Xie without greeting them. Her sudden indifference unsettles Tang Wulin, who had been accustomed to receiving her attention first 20.
Spirit Ascension Platform Visit
- Gu Yue accompanies the remaining Class Zero students on their weekly Spirit Ascension Platform visit, sitting separately from Tang Wulin and Xie Xie during the silent bus journey 21 22.
- Inside the platform, she senses Li Qingxun but does not approach him as he pursues his own investigation 23.
Relationships
- Tang Wulin — Classmate and bearer of the Golden Dragon King Bloodline. Her initial protectiveness toward him is reinforced by bloodline attraction and the suspected implanted influence; after gaining temporary clarity, she intends to take his bloodline power 3 18 19.
- Li Qingxun — Classmate, former opponent, and transactional ally. His Reality Distortion helps restore her awareness, and his hypnosis grants a temporary reprieve. She relies on him despite feeling uneasy about his ability to partly discern her thoughts 10 18 19.
- Wu Changkong — Class Zero’s teacher. He permits her duel with Li but disciplines her for its lethal escalation, then includes her in additional combat training 3 11.
- Na’er — A separate personality whose emergence Gu Yue associates with her memory loss and the outside interference affecting her consciousness 18.
- Tang San and Tang Hao — Suspected architects of the power controlling her. Gu Yue believes one of them placed it inside her before she entered the human world; she also fears Tang Hao’s intervention as Plane Master 18 19.
- Di Tian — A potential source of support, but Gu Yue believes his direct involvement would awaken Tang Hao and leave them unable to resist the Plane Master 19.
- Xie Xie — Classmate who witnesses her defeat and later notices her abrupt change in behavior toward Tang Wulin 11 20.
