Background / History

A year before the opening events, Ling Luochen was ambushed by an Evil Soul Master while carrying out a mission near the Jiang family estate. Jiang Chen brought her to his family for treatment. They grew close afterward, and she continued looking after him when he enrolled at Shrek Academy 3.

She cultivated intensely to enter the Inner Court, believing its training grounds represented the academy’s highest cultivation resources. Only later did she learn about the Quiet Room, a secluded training resource reserved for students being groomed as successors 36.

Personality

Ling Luochen has a cool, aloof reputation and ordinarily keeps male students at a distance. With Jiang Chen, she is attentive and openly affectionate: she remembers his favorite food, chooses separate snacks for his roommates, and becomes embarrassed when her words or public affection reveal too much 3 9 21.

Her protectiveness does not extend to controlling him. When Ma Xiaotao demands that she make Jiang Chen suppress the Evil Fire, Ling refuses, explaining that she has no authority to order him around and would not ask that of him. She supports his assessment campaign regardless of the outcome, while insisting on fidelity when they become a couple 12 18 20.

She can be sharply sarcastic toward Ma Xiaotao, especially when Xiaotao tries to regain Jiang Chen’s attention. After the Body Sect match, however, she treats her defeated opponents courteously and follows Jiang Chen’s example of acknowledging their strengths 8 15 36.
