Background

Ling Yun was born into the Ling Family of Qingfeng Town. The family was annihilated when he was young; three years later, he returned to Burial Sword Slope to mourn his parents and eldest brother, swearing to make the Zhao Family repay its blood debt. Forced to flee Zhao Kun’s pursuit, he left for the Flowing Cloud Sword Sect with the Sky-Rending Sword and the Sword Elder’s guidance 1 2.

At the sect, Ling Yun failed the spirit-root test because of his Chaos Sword Body, but Su Qingyuan secured him a chance to take the outer-disciple assessment. He entered through the Servant Courtyard, rose through the Sword Tower trial, and became a Core Courtyard disciple after clearing the seventh floor and defeating Murong Shuang 2 3.

His pursuit of the truth eventually revealed that the Zhao Family and Blood Fiend Hall were instruments in a larger scheme tied to the Heavenly Dao Sword Master.
