Chapter 1026: Loose Change
"What kind of therapy is... Equine Therapy?" Ende asked, leaning over the table.
By lunchtime, most of them had gathered in the living room. Only Eucali and Hesta had yet to arrive; the two seemed to have gone out for a walk and had not returned.
Since Tie Xi still had to go out that afternoon, her lunch was served first. Everyone watched her curiously—rather than using a knife and fork, she ate with wooden chopsticks like Chiba.
"It's a kind of... how should I put it?" Tie Xi explained through a mouthful of food. "It's a therapeutic approach that uses horses as a medium. In theory, anyone with motor, sensory, cognitive, or psychological difficulties can try it, regardless of the severity of their suffering, their age, or whether their condition is congenital or acquired."
Zoe frowned slightly. "...Isn't that just a cure-all?"
Cure-alls were usually scams.
"Can really anyone try it?" Ende asked again. "There aren't any restrictions at all?"
"Right. Whether you have temporary discomfort, chronic illness, developmental issues, psychological effects from physical illnesses, motor impairments, or sensory impairments—Equine Therapy can help."
They heard some movement by the door and turned around. Lairin spotted the little girl who had run everywhere yesterday after being beaten by her mother, now pawing at the door panel.
"Do you need something?" Susie asked.
The little girl did not speak, but she seemed to take the response from those inside as permission to enter. She wandered around the living room, touching this and that, occasionally bending down to inspect the little ornaments on the table.
Zoe watched the girl warily, her eyes fixed entirely on her.
"What kinds of patients do you usually treat?" Ende asked again. "Is it a mixed bag too?"
