Search for a Successor

After spending hundreds of thousands of years in the Divine Realm, the Asura God wants to pass on his godhood, explore the universe, and seek opportunities to advance further. Frustrated by the lack of suitable candidates, he even considers bringing someone from another world to replace a world’s child of destiny 45 108.

He discovers Tang Chen after the boy wins sixty-six matches in Slaughter City’s Hell Slaughter Arena. Tang Chen’s age—eleven—combined with level-55 Soul Power, powerful physical and mental attributes, Twin Martial Souls, and an exceptionally old Soul Ring convinces him to bestow the Asura Nine Trials immediately 45.

Supporting Tang Chen

The Asura God’s enthusiasm grows as Tang Chen rapidly adapts to killing-intent tempering. His divine power helps transform Tang Chen’s Body Martial Soul into the Asura Divine Body, and he grants a God-Gifted Soul Ring despite the prohibition against divine interference in the lower realm 48 49.

He invites the Destruction God King to choose a successor as well, proposing that they unite their powers as a dual God King. Destruction refuses because he remains committed to improving the Divine Realm 49.

Concerned that Tang Chen’s powerful Twin Martial Souls will overburden his body, the Asura God obtains Gold of Life and the God of Life’s last available Life Drop. He personally guides Tang Chen in absorbing them, bringing his physique and mental power to divine levels before his Soul Power reaches level one hundred 68 69.

Scheme Against the Rakshasa God

When the Rakshasa God sends demonic will into his inheritance site, the Asura God pursues her with his sword and punishes her with ten rod strokes. Their antagonism predates Tang Chen: she repeatedly tries to undermine him, while he treats her unsuccessful provocations as entertainment 69 80.

Tang Chen’s difficulty in the sorrow portion of the Seven Emotions Trial gives the Asura God another motive to involve her. He plans to use her to harden his successor while also luring her into the lower realm, shattering her godhood, merging it into the Asura position, and feeding her Demon Scythe to the Asura Demon Sword. He intends to spare her life but dismisses the risks the altered inheritance could impose on Tang Chen 80.

With the God of Evil’s help, he secretly attaches Asura Demonic Thought to the Rakshasa God’s Divine Soul. The Scales of Justice conceal his interference. The two gods watch her response through the Divine Realm Central Hub, disappointed that she sends a mortal agent rather than descending herself 88 89.

Assassination and Final Inheritance

During Tang Chen’s seventh trial, the Asura God deliberately strengthens Ye Li’s concealment instead of protecting his successor. Ye Li ambushes and kills Tang Chen while he refines origin divine power; the Asura God regards the attack as a lesson against pride and carelessness. Ning Zi subsequently resurrects Tang Chen 103 105.

For the ninth trial, he constructs an illusion that repeatedly recreates the assassination and amplifies Tang Chen’s emotions. Once Tang Chen accepts that the past cannot be changed and watches without losing control, the Asura God approves his completion 108.

He then begins upgrading Tang Chen’s Soul Bones into God-level components for the Asura Divine Armor. The inheritance process requires a year in the mortal world; Tang Chen’s already powerful Soul Bones make the upgrades comparatively inexpensive for the Asura God 109.

The Asura God is bored with divine administration and openly eager to escape it. Tang Chen’s talent excites him primarily because it offers freedom, though he also believes the boy could elevate the Asura God position to a higher realm 45 68 108.

He is generous toward a promising successor but selective about rules. He provides rare treasures, enhanced trial rewards, and artifacts he originally intended to keep, while invoking his law-enforcement authority to discourage objections to his own interference 49 50 68.

His mentorship is also manipulative and self-serving. He enjoys watching divine feuds, engineers dangers for Tang Chen, and treats the risks of merging godhoods as his successor’s future problem rather than his own 80 88 103.
