Background / History

Ye Li belonged to a side branch of the Nine Heart Begonia family and grew up within the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. She had low Soul Power and did not awaken the family’s strategically valuable Nine Heart Begonia Martial Soul. With little standing in the clan and no support from the family’s main branch, she and her parents moved to a small city in the Star Luo Empire 112.

While earning Gold Soul Coins in a Soul Fighting Arena, she used her evil-attribute second Soul Skill, Demon Scythe Surprise Attack. An Angel Legion patrol treated this as proof that she was a fallen Soul Master and seized her. When her parents intervened, the patrol branded them accomplices and sent the entire family to Slaughter City 112.

Her father was ambushed and killed while protecting his family. Her mother gradually went mad and died after a year; both were made into Bloody Mary. Ye Li survived for decades, eventually becoming a patrol officer in the outer city. These experiences left her with a deep hatred of Spirit Hall’s Angel Legion 104 111 112.

Personality

Ye Li’s desire for revenge develops into indiscriminate bloodlust. She accepts slaughter-based trials without hesitation, disregards whether her victims are commoners or nobles, and delights in the power awarded for killing them 102 104 105.

Despite this brutality, she is a cautious combatant. Her governing principle is to ambush whenever possible rather than fight head-on. She studies targets, maintains escape routes, retreats when exhausted, and waits for environmental dangers to subside before advancing 103 111.

Rapid advancement briefly makes her overconfident, but she remains aware that her cultivation is unstable. The Seventh Trial strips away that confidence through repeated deaths, leaving her nearly hopeless before she turns her accumulated resentment against an illusion of herself 113 114.
