When Lu Mingzi repels his opening attack, embarrassment turns into rage and a desire to humiliate him 8.

Despite his pride, he can acknowledge an opponent’s superiority in private. After the loss, he tells Flender that avoiding underestimation might not have helped and sincerely asks to become stronger. History

First Match Against Heavenly Demon

Already a recognized competitor at the Soto Great Soul Arena, Dai Mubai receives enthusiastic cheers when matched against the level-23 newcomer Heavenly Demon. His confidence collapses when Lu Mingzi breaks his claw attack, cuts through White Tiger Fierce Light Wave, and destroys his defensive barrier. With Lu’s blade at his neck, Dai Mubai loses consciousness from poison gas 8.

He subsequently asks Flender for help. The revelation that his opponent possessed a Thousand-Year Second Soul Ring shocks the headmaster, who promises to train him personally 9.

Six-Year Rematch

When Heavenly Demon returns six years later, Dai Mubai expects his training and accumulated combat experience to reverse their earlier result. He activates White Tiger Vajra Transformation and charges, but Lu Mingzi counters with one punch. The impact launches him into a wall, leaving a crater and gravely injuring him 13.

Dai Mubai emerges bruised, bleeding from the nose, and missing several front teeth. He remains unwilling to accept the loss. Flender, who witnessed the match, subsequently attempts to force Lu Mingzi into Shrek Academy and is captured by Lu’s Spirit Hall escorts 14 15.

Flender’s Capture and the Forest Pursuit

An owl delivers Flender’s message that Spirit Hall has taken him. Dai Mubai ignores his injuries and alerts Zhao Wuji and the other students; Tang San comforts him while Zhao Wuji acknowledges that the academy cannot directly confront the captors 15.

Later, Dai Mubai encounters Lu Mingzi alongside the Shrek Seven Devils and Zhao Wuji in the Star Dou Great Forest. He does not recognize Heavenly Demon without his arena mask.
