Arc 49The Fall of Utio
Russ and Omega crippled Gungnir while Abaddon led a fleet sacrifice that stopped it from firing on Terra. As the Emperor prepared for the rebellion on Mars, Garro warned Dorn of Horus’s betrayal, and Valdor led the assault that killed Utio.
- Omega lured Russ into Gungnir’s reactor and sabotaged its systems during their fight, while Utio used backup power to keep the weapon charging.
- Abaddon organized warships to overload their Warp Engines and ram the vortex, and the sacrifices collapsed Gungnir’s power before it could fire on Terra.
- Utio transferred his consciousness to Mars and planned to blockade Terra’s shipping lanes, while the Emperor ordered Valdor and the Imperial Fists to prepare for rebellion.
- Garro warned Dorn that Horus had turned traitor, and the Emperor linked the warning to Utio’s rebellion before ordering Dorn to prepare for war.
- Malcador tested Dorn’s resolve, then Sigismund and Garro joined the plan to remove Utio through an assassination followed by a Custodian assault if needed.
- Callidus and Vindicare Assassins attacked Utio at Olympus Mons, but his defenses held and he sealed the forge temple as Valdor advanced with two thousand Custodians.
- Valdor and fifty Custodians entered the temple and fought Utio, and Valdor destroyed his mechanical body with the Apollonian Spear.
