Charle's "Killing Curse," Choosing a Wand

At Charle's low shout in his mind, the Deep Blue System's prompt sounded at once.

Please specify the direction of deduction.

Charle had long since given it some thought.

His most basic requirements for Apparition were that it had to activate as quickly as possible, with precise distance and positioning, and high stability. There absolutely could not be a situation where someone sealed off the route and he was unable to escape.

"Deduce it based on the Goblin version of Apparition. Also, speed up the activation a little more."

The instant Charle specified the direction of deduction, the Deep Blue System began operating.

Ten thousand Deduction Points were deducted, and countless pieces of knowledge about Apparition flooded into Charle's mind.

Just like when he had previously deduced those spells, it was as though countless Charle from parallel worlds were researching Apparition day and night.

With the System's enhancement, every trace of spatial fluctuation from Professor McGonagall's and Goblin Bashir's Apparition processes was analyzed in meticulous detail.

Gradually, Charle's mind seemed to truly form a vague perception of "passages."

He could sense both the passage used by wizards for Apparition and the passages used by Goblins and House-elves.

The former was filled with traces of wizard magic. It could be called the "high-speed rail" of the Wizarding World, an enormous magical project and one of magic's greatest achievements.

Both the wizard who had proposed the theory and the wizards responsible for constructing it deserved to have their names recorded in Magical History.

The passages used by Goblins and House-elves, meanwhile, radiated a grand, ancient aura that seemed eternal and unchanging, as though the passage could not be shaken in the slightest no matter how the ages changed and time flowed on.

Only after sensing it did Charle understand why Goblins still looked down on wizards even after being defeated by them, claiming to be a more noble magical race.

Indeed, when the British Empire's fleet was mentioned, even beggars in London's slums would proudly raise their heads.

The Goblins who could sense that ancient magic were probably much the same.

Soon, the deduction also revealed why wizards could not use the Goblin passages.

It was actually very simple. Aside from the ninety-nine percent of wizards who could not sense the passage at all, the remaining one percent still faced the problem of magical authentication.

Without the special magic of a Goblin or House-elf, it was equivalent to lacking a "ticket" for that passage. Even if they could sense it, they could not use it.

The vast majority of wizards had no way to solve this problem.

Wizards proficient in Transfiguration, such as Dumbledore and Voldemort, could of course use certain methods to magically transform themselves and gain some Goblin traits.

But clearly, even a Dark wizard like Voldemort, who was willing to turn himself into neither human nor ghost for power, would rather make his face resemble a snake than have anything to do with races like Goblins and House-elves.

Dumbledore was even less likely to do so.

But none of this was a problem for Charle, who possessed Deep Blue.

Sufficient Deduction Points could solve anything.

Moments later, through deduction, Charle obtained a method of disguising his own magic and forging a "ticket," allowing him to freely switch between the two passages.

Deep Blue's prompt sounded again.

Initial deduction of Apparition complete.

Host has obtained Complete Apparition and may use both wizard and Goblin passages for Apparition.

Because two passages are used for positioning, Complete Apparition has a greater maximum range and more precise positioning than Apparition using either passage alone.

At the same time, Complete Apparition resolves the drawback of the wizard version, which requires spinning in place to activate. Its activation speed is faster. However, because it includes the additional step of disguising Goblin magic, an incantation is required for activation.

The host may set this incantation personally.

Hearing Deep Blue's prompt, Charle took a deep breath.

He could use both wizard and Goblin passages for Apparition at once?

That completely met his requirements in terms of range and precision.

At the very least, there would be none of the mishaps Harry Potter and the others had encountered in the original story, where they Apparated to the wrong place.

The only pity was that while he no longer needed to spin in place, he still had to recite an incantation. He could not activate it with a snap of his fingers like Goblins and House-elves.

Still, that would not be much slower.

And besides...

A strange light appeared in Charle's eyes.

An activation incantation he could set himself?

Perhaps it was even better than snapping his fingers.

After all, snapping one's fingers posed no threat to the enemy. Anyone would know that he was about to Apparate away.

But if he recited an intimidating incantation, the enemy would instinctively be on guard. How could they imagine that Charle, after reciting such a spell, was actually planning to run away?

At that thought, Charle's eyes grew brighter, and his slight regret vanished completely.

"Then what incantation should I set for Apparition, one that would make every enemy instinctively guard against it?"

A moment later, Charle settled on the spell called unforgivable throughout the Wizarding World, one that even Dumbledore had to take care not to be struck by.

"Avada Kedavra!"

"I'll use that as the activation incantation for my Apparition!"

A smile curled at Charle's lips.

He could already imagine it: when he faced powerful enemies in the future and shouted the Killing Curse, they would focus their attention and brace themselves—only to discover that Charle had slipped away. Their expressions would surely be marvelous.

"Besides, I'll only use Apparition when I'm running for my life against powerful enemies."

"With my rate of growth, as long as I escape, once I grow a little stronger, that enemy will definitely be dead."

"Since the moment I Apparate, the enemy is destined to die, what's wrong with calling Apparition the Killing Curse?"

"Isn't that perfectly reasonable?"

The completion of the Apparition spell's deduction greatly boosted Charle's sense of security.

He now had the Laser Spell and Eternal Blazing Sun Spell for offense; the Flash Spell, Banishing Charm, and Dust-Free Land Curse for control; and this newly minted "Killing Curse" as well. He could fight and flee, finally giving himself some security in the Wizarding World.

Even if he faced a vicious Dark wizard like Dak again, even if he could not defeat him, he could still use Dust-Free Land together with the "Killing Curse" to escape without issue.

Yet all of this had taken only moments within Charle's mind.

Professor McGonagall had no idea that in such a short time, Charle had already achieved Apparition comparable to, or even surpassing, that of Goblins. He had even come up with his own version of the "Killing Curse."

She spoke to Charle.

"Come, Charle. Next, we'll go choose a Wand for you."

As she said this, a strange look appeared in Professor McGonagall's eyes.

When Dumbledore had asked her to guide Charle, though the message had been sent in great haste, he had still mentioned that Charle possessed extraordinary talent.

He might even be more talented than Dumbledore had been in his youth. Dumbledore had asked Professor McGonagall to pay special attention to what kind of Wand would choose Charle.

Professor McGonagall was deeply curious about that as well.

More talented than Dumbledore had been?

Was Charle's talent truly that exceptional?

What kind of Wand would he receive?
