Background / History

Before transmigrating, Wulin was a longtime Douluo fan and an orphan raised in an orphanage. While browsing his phone, he encountered a post asking which Tang-family martial soul he would choose as Tang Wulin. He selected the Soft-Boned Enchanting Rabbit for its mobility and defensive mechanics, then awakened in the six-year-old boy’s body with that martial soul instead of Blue Silver Grass 1.

Tang Ziran and Lang Yue’s affection gives him the family life he lacked. Knowing that the original story’s financial pressures led them to sell themselves to a research institute and eventually die, he resolves to prevent that outcome. Spirit Pagoda sponsorship offers a free first soul spirit and continued cultivation resources, allowing him to pursue strength without placing those costs on his parents 1.

His foreknowledge also shapes his choice of teacher. Although Qiangu Dongfeng offers to take him as a disciple, Wulin distrusts his secret dealings with the Holy Spirit Cult. He chooses Leng Yaozhu instead, concealing that calculation behind a childish preference for the “pretty big sister” 2.

He also recognizes Ye Xinglan and Xu Lizhi’s future potential and recruits them as followers before they develop fully 3 8 11.

His playful, childlike manner often masks adult judgment. He uses flattering innocence to avoid Qiangu Dongfeng, turns a food dispute into a wager for followers, and remains composed during military interrogation. His confidence does not prevent him from showing humility when requesting Zhuo Shi’s instruction 2 7 20 34.
