Background / History
Welcoming Na’er
Tang Ziran returns home after Lang Yue fails to find any official records for Na’er. At Tang Wulin’s urging, the couple accepts her into their family. Their house has only two rooms, so Na’er shares Wulin’s room, with a separate bed arranged by Lang Yue 2.
Seeing the children get along convinces both parents that adopting Na’er was the right decision. However, supporting another child increases their financial burden. Tang Ziran already works outside the home, and Lang Yue begins working as well 2.
Martial Soul Awakening and Recruitment
Six months later, Tang Ziran takes Na’er and Tang Wulin to Red Mountain Academy for Na’er’s awakening ceremony. Beforehand, he reassures her that she will remain part of the family regardless of whether she has a martial soul 3.
He is astonished when the Spirit Transmitter reports that Na’er possesses the Silver Dragon Spear and innate full soul power. He immediately agrees to the invitation for her to join the Spirit Pagoda, but Na’er refuses because she wants to attend school with Wulin. Tang Ziran agrees to discuss the offer with his family 3.
At home, he encourages Na’er to reconsider, emphasizing the Spirit Pagoda’s resources and teachers. When she remains determined to stay with Wulin, he and Lang Yue stop pressing her rather than force her to leave, though they intend to revisit the subject later 4.
Personality
Tang Ziran combines unconditional parental affection with enthusiasm for Na’er’s prospects. Her place in his family does not depend on her talent, but he sees Spirit Pagoda membership as both an opportunity for her growth and a source of family prestige. His initial frustration at her refusal gives way to restraint when she makes her wishes clear 3 4.
Relationships
- Lang Yue — His wife. They jointly welcome Na’er, manage the household’s increased expenses, and discuss her educational future 2 4.
- Tang Wulin — His son. Wulin’s pleading helps persuade the parents to accept Na’er into the family 2.
- Na’er — His adopted daughter. He openly acknowledges her as his daughter and assures her of her place in the family before learning of her exceptional talent 3.
