Generous system rewards

Before long, Qingyun appeared at Konoha's gates, drenched in sweat. Sure enough, a crowd of ninja had gathered there.

"Oh, little Qingyun, what brings you here?"

Qingyun had treated many of the wounded among them. Seeing him arrive, one middle-aged ninja asked curiously.

"Sir, have you seen my Teacher?"

After catching his breath, Qingyun looked at the middle-aged ninja and asked.

"Lady Tsunade? She's up ahead, discussing things with Lord Hokage and a few elders."

At that, Qingyun raced ahead. "Thank you, sir!"

Before long, Qingyun reached the front of the group, where he saw Tsunade and Hiruzen Sarutobi talking with two middle-aged people, a man and a woman.

"Lord Hokage, Teacher Sis, may I interrupt for a moment?"

Qingyun called out from a distance.

Tsunade, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Mitokado Homura, and Utatane Koharu turned toward his voice and saw that it was Qingyun.

"Little Qingyun, did you come to see your Teacher off?"

A flicker of surprise crossed Hiruzen Sarutobi's eyes when he saw Qingyun, and he asked curiously.

"Grandpa Hokage, I came to see Teacher Sis off and give her a few things."

Qingyun nodded, offering Hiruzen Sarutobi a brief explanation before turning to Tsunade.

"Kid, what are you giving me?"

Tsunade looked at Qingyun curiously, unsure what he was up to.

"Teacher Sis, Minato and I stayed up all night making these provisions. You can store them in a sealing Scroll and eat them when you're out on missions, instead of those awful ration pills."

Qingyun handed Tsunade the enormous bundle, then explained what was inside.

Tsunade took the bundle and opened it, revealing neatly stacked flatbread. Then she noticed Qingyun's bloodshot eyes. Unable to help herself, she crouched down and kissed his forehead. "Thank you, Qingyun. This is the best farewell gift I've ever received. Behave yourself in Konoha and wait for your Teacher to come home."

Watching this, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Mitokado Homura, and Utatane Koharu all thought with feeling, This child really is different from the others in the Uchiha Clan.

The kiss left Qingyun stunned for a moment. Then he scratched the back of his head and broke into a grin!

"Old man, take good care of Qingyun. Don't let anyone mistreat him, or you'll have me to answer to when I get back."

After kissing Qingyun, Tsunade stood up and returned to her usual fierce self as she warned Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"Don't worry! Qingyun has a firm will of fire. I'll take good care of him. You be careful on the battlefield, too."

Hiruzen Sarutobi gave Tsunade his assurance.

Tsunade nodded and glanced at Qingyun once more. Then her gaze hardened with resolve. Raising her right hand, she shouted, "Move out!"

At Tsunade's command, the several hundred ninja accompanying her and the supply convoy slowly departed Konoha.

Qingyun stood beside Hiruzen Sarutobi, watching the procession until it disappeared from view. Only then did he come back to himself and wave to Hiruzen Sarutobi. "Grandpa Hokage, it's getting late. I need to go treat the wounded at the Ninja Hospital. Goodbye!"

Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at Qingyun and nodded approvingly, his expression kindly. "Go on!"

Qingyun bowed to Hiruzen Sarutobi, Mitokado Homura, and Utatane Koharu, then used the Golden Wild Goose Technique to race toward the Ninja Hospital.

"Hiruzen, this child is truly promising. You must nurture him properly."

Utatane Koharu watched Qingyun's retreating figure as she spoke slowly to Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Hiruzen Sarutobi said nothing, merely nodding slightly to show that he understood.

Meanwhile, atop Hokage Rock, a stunningly beautiful married woman watched through the Crystal Ball as Qingyun saw Tsunade off and gave her a farewell gift. An unusual light flickered in her world-weary eyes as she watched him. Only after Qingyun entered the Ninja Hospital did she look away.

"This child truly does seem different from the average Uchiha. He has a kind, honest nature. It's just..."

The beautiful woman murmured to herself. Tsunade had spoken to her about Qingyun many times, and lately Kushina had often told her about his deeds as well.

She had made a point of investigating Qingyun's past. After all, he was still a member of the Uchiha Clan, while Kushina would one day inherit her will and become the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. She could hardly afford not to take an interest.

The sight of an Uchiha controlling the Nine-Tailed Fox with the Sharingan remained vivid in her memory. The enormous Susanoo combined with the Nine-Tails had possessed world-shattering power. Had her husband not used Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands, Konoha might have been destroyed by Madara Uchiha then and there.

Even so, after his battle with Madara Uchiha, her husband had suffered irreversible injuries and passed away not long afterward.

Thinking of that godlike, overwhelming figure, Mito Uzumaki felt a wave of worry.

Meanwhile, Qingyun had no idea that Konoha's most powerful boss was keeping an eye on him. After entering the Ninja Hospital, he checked on the patients he had treated earlier. Finding no serious problems, he gave the nurses a few instructions, then returned to the Forest of Death alone.

By now, treatment for the wounded was largely complete. Most had followed Tsunade back to the battlefield, and those still in the Ninja Hospital were mostly patients left with disabilities.

Medical Ninjutsu was miraculous, but in cases of missing arms or legs, recovery was only possible if the severed part was retrieved and treatment was provided promptly. If too much time passed and the cells at the wound died completely, even Medical Ninjutsu could not restore it.

After returning to his lodgings in the Forest of Death, Qingyun sat on his bed with his eyes closed and focused his mind on the system.

This mission report had appeared in Qingyun's mind after he saw Tsunade off earlier that day. There had been too many people around, so he had ignored it at the time. Now that he had a moment to himself, he naturally chose to claim the rewards.

I've been working at the Ninja Hospital for free, and my Teacher is Tsunade. If I ask the hospital for some medicinal herbs, they probably won't give me a hard time.
