"Brother Feng, the Zombie Tide's attack has slowed down a lot."
Liu Feng had no time to spare for the fat man's words. He snatched up a freshly made Incendiary Bomb beside him and hurled it into the Zombie Tide near Little Knife.
Although Little Knife was out of danger, Liu Feng's heart was still pounding with anxiety.
Little Knife had come so close to... dying.
Thank goodness...
By then, quite a few zombies had broken through the defenses at the third-floor windows and slipped into the hallway outside the rooms.
"Raaagh..."
"Kekeke..."
A zombie with rolled-back eyes limped into one of the third-floor rooms, its arm dangling at an almost ninety-degree angle as fresh, bloody fluid spilled from its mouth.
Inside the room, two men with rifles stood close together by the window, completely oblivious to the movement behind them. They were clearly lost in their killing frenzy.
"Fuck you! Die, all of you!"
Rat-a-tat-tat...
The zombie that had barged into the room caught the survivors' scent. Its neck twitched as it pinpointed their location, then it opened its bloody maw and lunged for one survivor's neck.
The attack came without warning. Even though the other survivor noticed the zombie, it was already too late.
With a wet tearing sound, blood splashed across his face. His eyes widened in horror at the sight, and his gun fell from his hands.
At that very moment, a zombie below leaped up to the third-floor window. Its bloody jaws clamped down hard on his face. He screamed as it tore off half his face.
Hearing the commotion in the next room, Han Bing, who was also on the third floor, felt his heart turn cold. His brows drew together, his expression deadly serious.
"Something's wrong next door! Little Black, take two men and check it out!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a dark-skinned young man led two others over and opened the door to the neighboring room.
The instant the door opened, an overwhelming bloody stench hit them in the face. Then they saw a room packed with the walking dead.
The two men who had been guarding the room stood at the very front. Their eyes were vacant and their limbs twisted. They had clearly been infected by the other zombies.
"Fall back! The zombies have broken in!"
At Little Black's shout, the zombies in the room surged toward them. The two men in front had no time to react before the Zombie Tide swallowed them up.
Seeing the danger, Little Black thrust out his hand and slammed the door, trapping the zombies inside. Watching the door shudder under the pounding, he froze in terror and held his breath.
Just then, Han Bing stepped out of the room.
His face darkened as he saw the door on the verge of being battered apart.
"Little Black, how many zombies are in there?"
"A... a whole roomful!"
Hearing that, Han Bing quickly shouldered his Rocket Launcher and turned to shout urgently at his men, "Everyone, retreat to the roof!"
He had barely finished speaking when the door beside them burst apart, and countless zombies tumbled out of the room, crushed together in the rush.
At that critical moment, Han Bing aimed his Rocket Launcher at the nearby zombies without hesitation.
Boom!
The tremendous blast instantly knocked Little Black to the floor. The zombies that had just squeezed out were reduced to a mass of mangled flesh.
Han Bing shook his head, his ears ringing, and struggled to clear his mind.
Suddenly, a familiar man appeared in his field of vision.
"Iron-toothed Insect, go!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, thousands of Iron-toothed Insects materialized in midair and pounced on the zombies in the hallway.
Although there were enormous numbers of zombies, the narrow hallway kept them from breaking through the Iron-toothed Insects' assault for the moment.
"Han Bing, take the men back to the roof! I'll hold them off!"
"Feng, you..."
"Go!"
Seeing the resolve on Liu Feng's face, Han Bing could only grit his teeth, steel himself, and turn away.
Not long after everyone left, an exceptionally agile figure suddenly appeared before Liu Feng.
Shhk...
A silver gleam flashed off the Curved Knife in her hand, and a zombie's head rolled mercilessly to the floor.
"Little Knife, you should go back to the roof too. I'll handle things here!"
Little Knife raised her brows slightly at his words. Looking at Liu Feng earnestly, she said calmly, "No. I'll stay here with you."
Under Little Knife's gaze, Liu Feng's heart began to race despite himself. A flush slowly spread across his handsome face.
"Watch out!"
While Liu Feng was standing there in a daze, a nimble zombie had already crept up beside him. Just as it was about to attack, a Curved Knife plunged hard into its throat.
The foul, bloody stench hit Liu Feng's nose at once. It nearly made him throw up yesterday's dinner.
He hurriedly summoned the Zerg Army, which destroyed the zombie in an instant.
Liu Feng abruptly grabbed Little Knife's arm and pulled her toward the roof.
Behind them, the zombies gradually caught up. But with the Zerg blocking their path, they could only perish before reaching them.

Amid the system notifications, Liu Feng finally brought Little Knife safely onto the roof.
Only when the heavy iron rooftop door clanged shut and locked did Liu Feng breathe a sigh of relief.
He raised his head. Every survivor from the Residential Camp on the roof looked bedraggled, with none of the peace and contentment they had shown before.
"Feng, we're trapped here," Han Bing said gravely.
Liu Feng walked slowly to the railing. Looking at the sea of zombies below, he could not help taking a deep breath.
The zombies below were like a surging tide, while they were survivors stranded on a lonely island. One wrong move could cost them everything.
"Everyone, rest for a while. I'll think of something! Han Bing, come here!"
At Liu Feng's order, everyone on the roof shook their heads helplessly. They leaned against the walls, looking utterly dejected.
After being under such intense strain for so long, they were running low on energy, making them look all the more exhausted.
Han Bing slowly walked over to Liu Feng's side.
The two leaned against the railing, watching the zombies below roar incessantly, and sank into thought.
They remained silent for a long time before Han Bing finally spoke.
"Feng, what do we do next?"
