Boom...

Amid a burst of flame, the iron door on the rooftop blasted open.

The zombies that had been wandering near the stairs instantly perked up at the noise from the roof. Howling, they dragged their bodies up the stairway.

But in such a cramped space, their advantage in numbers meant little.

Han Bing shouldered the Rocket Launcher again and aimed at the zombies in the stairwell.

Boom...

Another deafening explosion rang out, and the entire stairwell seemed to shake.

More and more zombies were drawn by the commotion Han Bing was making, desperately trying to charge inside. But the zombies ahead blocked their way.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side from the stairwell...

A rope dozens of meters long hung from the rooftop railing all the way to the ground. Liu Feng gave it a tug and decided it was sturdy enough. Gripping it tightly, he leaped down.

Thud!

Liu Feng landed steadily on the ground. Apart from stirring a few fallen leaves, he made no other sound.

Liu Feng nodded to Fatty on the roof, then watched as the others followed his example and jumped down one after another.

This clever diversion had been Little Knife's idea.

She had told Liu Feng that when she roamed Apocalypse World alone, this was one of her most frequently used methods of escaping danger.

It was just much harder to pull off when she was on her own.

Now, Liu Feng looked up at Little Knife on the roof, her face focused.

Women seemed even cooler than men when they got serious!

"Ah!"

In the half second Liu Feng's mind wandered, a woman's cry suddenly snapped him out of his thoughts.

Liu Feng turned toward the sound and saw the woman who had once tried to seduce him. She was now slumped on the ground, her face twisted in pain as she clutched her ankle.

"Ah, it hurts!"

Hearing her pained groans, Liu Feng couldn't help frowning.

Although Han Bing had drawn most of the zombies to the front of the building, some might still be wandering around elsewhere.

If her cries attracted other zombies, they would be in real trouble!

Seeing things take a bad turn, Fatty reached out and clamped a hand over her mouth.

"Mmph, mmph!"

The woman's brows knitted tightly as she struggled to pry Fatty's hand away. But she was too weak to break free of his grip.

Just as Liu Feng was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Fatty suddenly let out a furious howl of pain.

"Fuck! You fucking bitch, you actually bit me!"

Although Fatty had tried hard to keep his voice down, he still alerted a zombie in a nearby stairwell.

The zombie turned toward the sound, its neck cracking as though its head might fall off. It strained its senses toward Liu Feng and the others nearby, gradually picking up the scent of survivors.

"Ah!"

Seeing the zombie standing at the corner of the wall, the woman cried out in fear. That cry was enough to fully alert it.

"Roar, roar, roar..."

As soon as one zombie went berserk, a dozen more charged over with it.

Watching the zombies reach them in the blink of an eye, Liu Feng focused his gaze and furrowed his brow in frustration.

"Iron-toothed Insect, go!"

At his command, hundreds of thousands of Iron-toothed Insects engulfed the zombies. In the blink of an eye, the zombies had dissolved into pools of foul-smelling blood.

Ding! Killed one Ordinary Zombie. EXP +10 Ding! Killed one Ordinary Zombie. EXP +10 Ding! Killed one Ordinary Zombie. EXP +10

Looking at the pools of blood on the ground, the woman's eyes blurred with tears of terror. Her entire body stiffened, and she held her breath.

She looked at Liu Feng, her eyes filled with pleading and remorse.

"F-Feng, I was wrong. Please, spare me!"

Liu Feng flung her hand away and turned to Fatty with a stern expression. "Fatty, throw her into the zombies. We don't need to show any kindness to someone who only thinks of herself!"

Hearing this, Wang Defa stood nearby with a smile plastered across his face and said quietly, "Brother Feng, I don't think she made any fatal mistake, did she? So there's no need to be so..."

Before Wang Defa could finish, a silver Iron-toothed Insect landed right on the tip of his nose.

"Uncle Wang, I'm not being heartless. Someone who endangers the whole group like this has to be kicked out. Otherwise, none of us can guarantee what she'll do next."

"Feng, I..."

For a moment, Wang Defa was at a loss for words.

Seeing the resolve in Liu Feng's eyes, the woman fainted from fright. Liu Feng glanced at her motionless body on the ground and snorted.

"Hmph. Just leave her here!"

With that, Liu Feng gave Fatty a look, and Fatty immediately understood.

A few minutes later, five or six jeeps that were still in working order were packed with people.

Boom...

Another tremendous blast rang out.

On the rooftop, Little Knife abruptly grabbed the hem of Han Bing's clothes and forcibly dragged him off the building.

Only after everyone was in the vehicles did Liu Feng breathe a sigh of relief. Watching the zombies keep falling from the roof, he actually felt reluctant to leave.

Everything here was so familiar. Unfortunately, they were leaving now.

As the jeeps suddenly accelerated, the zombies behind them were left far behind. Every zombie blocking the road ahead was sliced in half by the blades fitted to the vehicles.

Under Liu Feng's leadership, everyone from the Residential Camp headed north toward the A58 Gathering Place.

The thirty-kilometer journey would take roughly half an hour.

Although the jeeps moved relatively slowly, they still reached the A58 Gathering Place before dark.

Looking at the brightly lit city up ahead, Liu Feng instinctively knitted his brows.

Han Bing noticed Liu Feng's expression and cautiously asked, "Brother Feng, what's wrong?"

Liu Feng paused, then suddenly said, "It looks like word about us has leaked."

"Huh?" Han Bing looked astonished, then lowered his voice. "That's impossible, isn't it? Everyone's been working right under my nose!"

Liu Feng smiled meaningfully, then turned his head and said quietly, "Hmph. Never mind under your nose. Even right in front of your eyes wouldn't be enough!"

Hearing this, Han Bing looked deeply guilty. He looked at Liu Feng and asked in confusion, "Brother Feng, how did you come to that conclusion?"

Liu Feng raised a hand and pointed toward the city wall nearby, smiling as he said, "With timing that precise, wouldn't you be suspicious too?"
