"If I'm fighting one against two, can I send out two Pokémon at once?"
On his own, even with Gabite, he had practically no chance against Weavile. But if he could send out another Pokémon and make it a two-on-two battle, he might have a shot.
Honestly, he no longer cared that much about winning or losing. He simply wanted to force Xiao Ran and the others to reveal their true strength. Otherwise, wouldn't the eight of them look like complete failures?
"Yes!" After checking with the judges, the host agreed.
With permission granted, Shen Teng immediately summoned his second Pokémon. It was another Dragon-type, but this time it was Noibat, a bat with draconic blood. Like most Dragon-type Pokémon, it wasn't particularly strong at this stage, but its stats would be excellent after evolving.
Noibat was clearly there to support Gabite. As a Flying-type Pokémon, at least it wouldn't be easy for Weavile to hit.
"Ready? Here I come!" Shen Teng said with a smile after summoning his Pokémon.
As his words fell, Noibat immediately took to the sky, while Gabite charged forward and whipped up a Sandstorm.
As a Dragon- and Ground-type, Gabite had nothing to fear from the sandstorm. Noibat flew high above it and wasn't affected much either, but Weavile and Diancie were completely engulfed.
Diancie was fine, but the sandstorm affected Weavile badly. The blurred visibility and grit scraping against its body left it deeply uncomfortable.
Fortunately, Guard Split considerably reduced the damage Weavile took from the sandstorm. This wasn't a game, after all. Damage from field-altering moves like Sandstorm could be mitigated.
Still, facing a Gabite that appeared and vanished without warning in this sandstorm was difficult. With its Sand Veil Ability, it was in its element amid the swirling yellow sand.
