"That would work, but I'd rather face you at my best!" After a moment's thought, Xiao Ran recalled Primarina.
"Hehe, go! Dragonair!" Red light flashed, and a blue-and-white serpentine Pokémon appeared on the field. It was Dragonair, the signature Pokémon of the Dragon Tamer Clan.
As it happened, Xiao Ran sent out Milotic, leaving two equally graceful serpentine Pokémon facing each other.
"Wow, Milotic! It really is beautiful! Your Pokémon suit you so well! Do good-looking Pokémon have good-looking Trainers, too? Looks like I'll have to put looks first when I catch my next Pokémon!" Veranica squealed. After speaking, she glanced at the Alakazam beside her. You're the worst-looking one on my team!
Who knew Alakazam would merely give her an indifferent glance before returning to his meditation? No point arguing with a woman over little things like this. So what if I'm not good-looking? A man just needs to be strong!
"Well... maybe?" Xiao Ran said with an awkward smile, but Veranica abruptly launched an attack.
"Dragonair, stop this rain! Use Sunny Day!"
The drizzle gradually faded, and the sky cleared once more.
The weather over the sea had been sunny to begin with. Primarina had only made a simple change, so turning it back was easy.
"Change the weather if you like. We'll just attack. Milotic, Disarming Voice!" Xiao Ran said with a smile.
They both had bodies like water snakes, but Dragonair was a Dragon-type, while Milotic was a Water-type. Nothing was better suited to dealing with Dragon-type Pokémon than Fairy-type moves.
"Miii~~~" A beautiful sound rang out from Milotic's mouth. By now, hearing that sound gave Veranica a headache. She had already lost to sound-based moves twice in a row. Surely she wasn't about to lose a third time?
