Mega Diancie defeated Xerneas and established herself as the strongest Fairy-type Pokémon. After the battle, Bai Yuling praised Zhang Cheng for raising Diancie so well, while both Trainers recalled their Pokémon to rest.

• Mega Diancie overwhelmed Xerneas's Moonblast with Light of Ruin, leaving both Pokémon with about one-third of their HP.
• Zhang Cheng ordered Mega Diancie to use Heal Pulse, restoring her HP before Bai Yuling's Xerneas could stop her with Heal Block.
• Zhang Cheng commanded Mega Diancie to keep firing Light of Ruin, and she defeated Xerneas after several exchanges.
• Bai Yuling recalled Xerneas, and Zhang Cheng recalled Mega Diancie after praising each Pokémon's efforts.
• Bai Yuling told Zhang Cheng that giving him Diancie had been the right choice and praised how strong he had become as a Trainer.

Zhang Cheng learned that his father had left him a final test: capture the level 95 Keldeo in the Water City. After three months of training, he reached the city and found Keldeo in its main hall, where the confrontation was about to begin.

• Bai Yuling told Zhang Cheng that he had to capture Keldeo in the Water City to pass his father's test and learn more about him.
• Zhang Cheng chose to train before attempting the test, and over three months his Pokémon all reached level 95.
• Zhang Cheng bought supplies, traveled to the ocean, and entered the Water City with Poliwrath and Swampert protecting him.
• Zhang Cheng reached the city's main hall and found Keldeo, which took a battle stance when he arrived with his Pokémon.
• Zhang Cheng used the Detection System to examine Keldeo and learned about its abilities and powerful signature move, Holy Sword.

Zhang Cheng had Zeraora battle Keldeo alone and caught the Mythical Pokémon after Zeraora defeated it. Zeraora needed treatment and recovery after the fight, while Keldeo was secured in a Poké Ball.

• Zhang Cheng sent Zeraora to challenge Keldeo one-on-one, and the two clashed with Plasma Fists and Keldeo's Secret Sword.
• Zeraora used Giga Impact while Keldeo struck it twice with Focus Blast, leaving both Pokémon with little HP.
• Zhang Cheng ordered Zeraora to finish Keldeo with Volt Tackle, and Zeraora defeated it before Keldeo could complete Secret Sword.
• Zhang Cheng treated Zeraora's injuries and recalled it to its Poké Ball.
• Zhang Cheng threw high-grade Poké Balls at Keldeo until one held after three shakes, successfully catching it.

Zhang Cheng recovered Keldeo and his other Pokémon before leaving the City of Water, but Lin Shan, deputy leader of the R Organization, confronted him on a nearby island. Their battle began with Lin Shan's Darkrai putting Moltres to sleep and inflicting heavy damage.

• Zhang Cheng treated Keldeo's injuries and waited until his Pokémon had recovered before setting off for Modu.
• Zhang Cheng introduced Keldeo to his other Pokémon, then used Keldeo's help to leave the seabed and return to the island.
• Lin Shan blocked Zhang Cheng's path, demanded his Mythical and Legendary Pokémon, and identified himself as the R Organization's deputy leader.
• Zhang Cheng released Moltres, and Lin Shan sent out his level 94 Darkrai.
• Moltres's Flamethrower badly hurt Darkrai, but Darkrai used Dark Void to put Moltres to sleep and then Dream Eater and Bad Dreams to reduce Moltres to half its HP.

Lin Shan’s Darkrai and Zhang Cheng’s Moltres fought to a mutual knockout, after which Lin Shan revealed five powerful Pokémon. Zhang Cheng answered by sending out his own team, including the newly caught Keldeo, and the battle continued with both sides facing off.

• Lin Shan ordered Darkrai to attack the sleeping Moltres with Dark Pulse, but Moltres woke and dodged before Zhang Cheng commanded Burn Up.
• Darkrai used Protect against Burn Up, but Moltres broke through the barrier and left Darkrai badly wounded.
• Lin Shan tried to put Moltres to sleep with Hypnosis, but Zhang Cheng used Safeguard to block it and followed with Brave Bird.
• Darkrai’s Dark Pulse weakened Moltres, but Moltres’s Brave Bird exhausted Darkrai’s remaining HP and knocked it out.
• Lin Shan released Nihilego, Naganadel, Incineroar, Guzzlord, and Yveltal, then challenged Zhang Cheng.
• Zhang Cheng released Kingdra, Swampert, Zeraora, Diancie, Keldeo, and Shaymin to face Lin Shan’s team.

Zhang Cheng assigned his Pokémon to fight Lin Shan’s team, relying on Mega Diancie to face Yveltal. Mega Diancie gained a decisive advantage, leaving Yveltal badly wounded as the other battles continued.

• Zhang Cheng paired Poliwrath and Swampert against Incineroar, assigned Diancie to Yveltal, and sent Keldeo, Shaymin, and Zeraora to face the remaining opponents.
• Zhang Cheng Mega Evolved Diancie, who flew into the sky to battle Yveltal while the other Pokémon engaged their assigned foes.
• Poliwrath and Swampert pressured Incineroar, and Keldeo gained a slight edge over Nihilego, while Shaymin and Zeraora struggled against Guzzlord and Naganadel.
• Mega Diancie exploited her type advantage to drive Yveltal onto the defensive, and Yveltal’s Oblivion Wing dealt little damage or restored much health.
• Mega Diancie broke through Yveltal’s Protect with Light of Ruin, reducing Yveltal to one-fifth of its HP.

Zhang Cheng’s Pokémon defeated Lin Shan’s team, and Mega Diancie killed Lin Shan after he tried to flee. Zhang Cheng returned to Modu, treated and trained his Pokémon, and resumed his routine as Bai Yuling came to visit.

• Poliwrath, Swampert, and Keldeo defeated Incineroar and Nihilego, but Shaymin and Zeraora fell, while Naganadel defeated Kingdra and Swampert and joined Guzzlord against Keldeo.
• Mega Diancie defeated Yveltal and joined the ground battle, knocking out Naganadel and then defeating Guzzlord.
• Lin Shan begged Zhang Cheng for mercy and offered his help as deputy leader of the R Organization, but Zhang Cheng ordered Mega Diancie to kill him with Light of Ruin.
• Zhang Cheng thanked Diancie, then released Moltres and returned to Modu with his Pokémon for food and treatment at the Pokémon Center.
• After resting, Zhang Cheng taught Keldeo new moves and trained his Pokémon; Bai Yuling arrived when she heard he had returned.

Zhang Cheng learned that his father, Zhang Zhi, was a League spy leading the R Organization with Ye Jun, and prepared for the League’s assault on the organization’s experiment. At God-Burial Mountain, Ye Jun revealed that he had discovered Zhang Zhi’s true allegiance as the experiment to create Mewtwo began.

• Bai Yuling told Zhang Cheng that his father, Zhang Zhi, had infiltrated the R Organization and was one of its two leaders alongside Ye Jun.
• Bai Yuling explained that the League planned to attack the R Organization in six months, and Zhang Cheng promised to grow stronger and keep his friendship with Ye Tian from interfering.
• Zhang Cheng trained for six months until all six of his chosen Pokémon reached level 99, then joined the League’s forces heading to God-Burial Mountain.
• At the mountain, Zhang Zhi confronted Ye Jun after discovering that Ye Jun had moved the experiment ahead of schedule.
• Ye Jun accused Zhang Zhi of being an undercover League agent as the R Organization’s experts worked to create Mewtwo.

Ye Jun revealed that he had trapped Zhang Zhi to destroy the League and make the R Organization dominant, then challenged his old rival to a six-on-six battle as Mewtwo neared birth. As the League attacked God-Burial Mountain, Zhang Cheng and Ye Tian began their own rematch, opening with Zeraora and Genesect.

• Ye Jun revealed that he had uncovered Zhang Zhi's identity and planned to use Mewtwo's birth to wipe out the League and seize power.
• Ye Jun and Zhang Zhi agreed to a six-on-six battle atop God-Burial Mountain while researchers continued preparing Mewtwo.
• The League's forces arrived, and Ye Tian took command of the R Organization's defense until Mewtwo was born.
• Zhang Cheng and Ye Tian met amid the battle and chose to settle their rivalry in a six-on-six match.
• Zhang Cheng sent out Zeraora while Ye Tian chose Genesect, and Zhang Cheng used his Detection System to inspect it.

Zhang Cheng’s Zeraora battled Ye Tian’s Genesect and won after overpowering it in a series of clashes. Genesect fainted, while Zeraora remained in battle with more than half its HP depleted.

• Ye Tian opened the battle by ordering Genesect to use Techno Blast, and Zhang Cheng countered with Zeraora’s Plasma Fists.
• Zeraora broke through Techno Blast, struck Genesect, and reduced its HP by two-fifths.
• Genesect attacked with Fell Stinger, but Zeraora’s Plasma Giga Impact won their head-on clash.
• Zeraora gained the upper hand again with Wild Charge against Genesect’s X-Scissor.
• Zhang Cheng ordered a finishing Giga Impact, while Ye Tian had Genesect fire Techno Blast to damage Zeraora before it was defeated.
• Zeraora struck Genesect with Giga Impact and reduced its HP to zero, so Ye Tian recalled it.

Zhang Cheng sent Zeraora and Moltres against Ye Tian’s Regice, using its weak Physical Defense and Ice-type weakness to gain the advantage. Regice was left badly weakened after Moltres’s Flame Charge, while the battle continued.

• Ye Tian revealed Regice and said the R Organization had gathered all the Legendary Titans to defeat Zhang Cheng.
• Zhang Cheng checked Regice’s stats and identified its low Physical Defense as a weakness.
• Zeraora broke through Regice’s Blizzard with Plasma Fists, taking a third of Regice’s HP before Regice knocked it out with Ice Beam.
• Zhang Cheng sent out Moltres, whose Heat Wave melted Regice’s Blizzard and reduced Regice’s HP below half.
• Moltres struck Regice with Flame Charge, leaving it with dangerously low HP.

Ye Tian and Zhang Cheng exchanged Pokémon in a battle as Moltres fought Regice and then Regirock. Moltres fell, and Zhang Cheng sent out Kingdra to face Regirock.

• Ye Tian had Regice use Thunderbolt, but Zhang Cheng's Moltres defeated it with Fire Blast.
• Ye Tian sent out Regirock, and Zhang Cheng had Moltres use Burn Up to shed its Fire typing before attacking.
• Regirock struck Moltres with Rock Slide, but Moltres survived and damaged Regirock with Brave Bird.
• Regirock defeated Moltres with Stone Edge, and Zhang Cheng recalled it.
• Zhang Cheng sent out Kingdra, whose Water typing gave it an advantage against Regirock.

Zhang Cheng’s Kingdra defeated Ye Tian’s Regirock before Registeel overcame Kingdra. Keldeo then defeated Registeel, leaving Ye Tian behind until he sent out his longtime partner, Hydreigon.

• Zhang Cheng’s Kingdra battered Regirock with Hydro Pump and Brine, defeating it after breaking through its Protect barrier.
• Ye Tian sent out Registeel, which defeated Kingdra after a series of exchanges.
• Zhang Cheng sent out Keldeo, which used Sacred Sword to defeat Registeel despite its Iron Defense.
• Ye Tian sent out Hydreigon and declared that the main event was beginning.

Zhang Cheng’s Keldeo and Shaymin fell to Ye Tian’s Hydreigon, leaving Mega Diancie as Zhang Cheng’s final Pokémon. Mega Diancie defeated Hydreigon with two Diamond Storms and gained a sharp boost to its physical defense, while Ye Tian still had one Pokémon remaining.

• Keldeo’s attacks and Protect failed to stop Hydreigon, which knocked it out with Outrage.
• Shaymin damaged Hydreigon with two Seed Flares, but Hydreigon recovered from confusion and knocked Shaymin out with Outrage.
• Zhang Cheng sent out Diancie and Mega Evolved it as his final Pokémon.
• Hydreigon’s Outrage had no effect on Mega Diancie, which defeated it with two Diamond Storms and sharply raised its physical defense.

Zhang Cheng and Ye Tian’s final Pokémon, Mega Diancie and Regigigas, battled as Regigigas struggled under Slow Start before reaching its full power. With Mega Diancie weakened and Regigigas unable to move after Giga Impact, Mega Diancie began gathering power for a decisive attack.

• Ye Tian sent out Regigigas, and Mega Diancie’s Moonblast overcame its Dizzy Punch and cut down its HP.
• Mega Diancie used Light of Ruin, but Regigigas answered with Giga Impact and left Mega Diancie badly injured before becoming unable to move.
• Mega Diancie struck the immobilized Regigigas with Dazzling Gleam, while Regigigas recovered and attacked with Crush Grip.
• Zhang Cheng had Mega Diancie use Heal Pulse to restore its HP, then ordered another Light of Ruin.
• Regigigas completed Slow Start and struck Mega Diancie with a vastly stronger Giga Impact, reducing it to a quarter of its HP.
• With Regigigas immobilized by Giga Impact, Mega Diancie gathered its remaining strength into a huge Eternal Flower, risking its last HP on a final attack.

Zhang Cheng and Zhang Zhi defeated the Ye family, seized control of Mewtwo, and dismantled the R Organization. Years later, Zhang Cheng reunited with his family, married Bai Yuling, and settled into a happy life with her and Diancie.

• Zhang Cheng defeated Ye Tian, while Zhang Zhi defeated Ye Jun, leaving the Ye family unable to fight.
• Zhang Cheng's Mega Diancie seized Mewtwo's Evolution Crystals as Zhang Zhi took control of Mewtwo.
• Zhang Zhi evolved Mewtwo into Mega Mewtwo X, which overwhelmed the R Organization; League officers arrested Ye Tian and Ye Jun.
• Zhang Cheng reunited with his mother in Jiangcheng, and the League later used the upgraded Mewtwo to unify the regional Leagues.
