• Zhang Yuan cultivated to the Source-Lifting Realm, learned from Zhao Lian that the Six Heavens Demon King Palace had no fixed location, and traveled with her, Xie Jingxin, and Bai Fu toward Roselight Capital.
• Xie Jingxin dropped Zhang Yuan and his companions into the demon tide besieging Roselight Capital, where Zhang Yuan destroyed the attackers and refined their Remnant Souls to reach the Nascent Soul Realm.
• Zhang Yuan reunited with Wei Liu, Wei Jianxing, Wu Qing, Pan Zhong, and Wei Huai, then helped drive back the Ghost Deities attacking the city.

The battle continued at the Upper Nether Academy, where allies joined the fight and Zhang Yuan began refining the Nether-Knocking Lord’s summoned souls.

• Zhang Yuan returned from seclusion, rejected Mo Huang’s marriage demand, and drove the Nether-Knocking City envoys away, then learned that powerful outsiders had arrived in Roselight Capital.
• Zhang Yuan clashed with the First God Cult Master, issued harsh orders at court, and warned the city against the cult’s teachings and concealed enemies.
