They fled toward a spatial rift as Zhang Yuan’s power drew the attention of Demon King Mingluo Hunzhao and the Heavy Spring Spirit-Commanding Demon King.

• Zhang Yuan and Xie Jingxin killed Black Miasma, found the Yin Net Tranquil-Illumination Palace’s layout, and looted weapons, spirit tea, and treasures from the Ten-Thousand Saints, Thousand-Treasure Pavilion.
• Zhang Yuan collected the cinnabar glow five-colored water and earthcore treasure lotus tree, then escaped Black Miasma’s pursuit into the Underworld-Penetrating Soul-Severing Palace.
• Zhang Yuan and Xie Jingxin found the Calamity God Hall, where Zhang Yuan collected primordial heavy water and cultivated to purple mansion perfection before reaching early Spirit Calamity.
• Ao Ying appeared in Zhang Yuan’s Sea of Consciousness to demand tasks for taking her primordial heavy water, and Zhang Yuan and Xie Jingxin killed the cursed fire dragon Ao Hen.
• The Heavy Spring Spirit-Commanding Demon King awakened the realm’s currents, while Zhang Yuan and Xie Jingxin gathered treasures and killed Wenren Yue and He Chuan.
• Returning God pursued Zhang Yuan and Xie Jingxin, and Xie Jingxin split him with Gazing into the Netherworld before Zhang Yuan stopped her from striking again and fled toward a spatial rift.
• Piaopeng and several ghost deities pursued Zhang Yuan and Xie Jingxin, while Zhang Yuan used Eroding the Sun to darken the Underworld-Penetrating Soul-Severing Palace and the Yin Net Tranquil-Illumination Palace.
• Demon King Mingluo Hunzhao set out to investigate the spreading darkness, and the Heavy Spring Spirit-Commanding Demon King dispersed Zhang Yuan’s black-and-gold beam.

Zhang Yuan and Xie Jingxin crossed the Thirty-Six Hells with Liu Yihong, searching for Ao Ying and Ao Zhi while becoming entangled with a doomed caravan and its buried dragon. After Zhang Yuan fought Ao Zhi, the prison was breached and the Heavenly Army Night-Cutting Goddess confronted the Demon Kings outside.

• The Heavy Spring Spirit-Commanding Demon King redirected the spatial rift, and Zhang Yuan carried the badly injured Xie Jingxin through it into the Prison-Warden Soul-Pitying Palace, where Liu Yihong intercepted them.
• Liu Yihong enlisted Zhang Yuan to help find Ao Ying and Ao Zhi, and the group passed through the Thirty-Six Hells, encountering their wardens and the torments inflicted on the imprisoned souls.
• In Boiling Sand Hell, Zhang Yuan joined a caravan seeking a Supreme Treasure and uncovered its scheme to break the seal on a remnant soul by making seven people break their promises.
• Ao Zhi emerged as a colossal dragon, restored Xie Guan, and ordered him to kill Zhang Yuan and the others, but Zhang Yuan destroyed Xie Guan and challenged Ao Zhi over her Xuanhuang Long Sword.
• Zhang Yuan wounded Ao Zhi with the Blood Baleful Great Saber before golden Sword Qi pierced the Thirty-Six Hells and carried them out of the prison.
• The Heavenly Army Night-Cutting Goddess confronted Demon King Mingluo Hunzhao and the other Demon Kings, while the Calamity-Gathering Spirit-Pitying Demon King formed a Blood Baleful Great Saber to test her.

Zhang Yuan and his companions survived the Six Heavens Demon Kings’ palace, reached the Nine Heavens, and fought their way toward Mount Great Mystery. There, Zhang Yuan reunited Ao Zhi with Ao Ying, who confronted Ao Zhi over her desertion and theft of the clan’s Supreme Treasure.

• The Heavenly Army Night-Cutting Goddess and her other incarnations battled the Six Heavenly Demon Kings, while the Mysterious Calamity-Bearing Ominous Demon King proposed that Zhang Yuan retrieve the sword from the six heavens.
• Zhang Yuan, Xie Jingxin, and Ao Zhi encountered the Death-Severing Baleful Fiend King, found Wish Well, and obtained rare materials by trading lifespan.
• Zhang Yuan refined the materials, restored his spirit root, and broke through to the Mahayana Realm before the Death-Severing Baleful Fiend King took the group to the Ninefold Calamity-Dispelling Palace.
• In the Nine Heavens, Zhang Yuan followed the cat demons and their Great Shamans, then defeated the God of No Return while Ao Zhi killed Ao Sha and the other shamans.
• A purple-haired Demon King seized Zhang Yuan, Xie Jingxin, and Ao Zhi and transported them to Mount Great Mystery, where Zhang Yuan defeated Tai Xuan and met Ziluo.
• Zhang Yuan climbed to the summit with Xie Jingxin and found Ao Ying, who offered him an Ancestral Dragon's Hand before confronting Ao Zhi about deserting in wartime and stealing the clan's Supreme Treasure.
